Kikuletwa hot springs is a beautiful oasis, about an hour and a half from Moshi. It's not that far but the road leading from Boma is extremely slow and bumpy. It's 10,000Tsh to get in which I think is a reasonable price. As plenty of other people have said, it's not hot, but given the weather it was lovely. We went on a Tuesday and there were a couple of other groups using it but it wasn't packed (and was empty over lunchtime).

There are ladders to help you get in and out, or a rope swing if you're feeling more adventurous. There is good and drink available but we'd brought our own lunch so I don't know about it's value or quality. There small fish which nibble your feet, which is a very strange but not unpleasant feeling!

Overall I would recommend visiting

The water is not hit in anyway shape or form. It is a nice swimming hole however. On a hot day it is a nice place to spend some time.

Me and my friends had a great time at the hotsprings (+ a short hike to a waterfall). We went on a Friday, because we’ve heard that it’s really crowded during the weekend. I saw Emanuel’s phone-number in an other review and decided to contact him. He is a really good guide, would definitely recommend him. We spent half a day at Kikuletwa (or Chemka) Hot Springs on a Friday. It took a little over an hour (mostly through small villages on dirt and gravel roads) to get there from our lodge in town but it was well worth the drive - the springs were absolutely beautiful and picturesque. It was clean and not too crowded. One of my kids was perfectly happy to lay on a shuka reading, while the other swam and used the rope swing countless times! There were vendors selling grilled meat, chips mayai, and drinks on site. Entry was TSH10 000 for adults 5 000 for kids. I’m leaving a 4-star rating because I can’t comment on the changing stalls or toilets as we did not use them while there. A perfect end to our time in Moshi!

The swimming was great. Not too hot! The place was rather messy and the food hygiene could have been much better.
