This restaurant makes it's name proud. The mussels are really fat and plenty. The snoek and sweet potatoes the best that I have ever had. Then the meat pot for those that needed a little variation on the theme. The catch of the day and the calamari were excellent. Throughout the meal there was potbrood to die for. Eat as much as you can!!! With so many dishes being so well prepared, one can only eat a little of everything. WHAT A PITY!

Its not often that you find honest people... attended my brothers wedding there last Friday and ended up leaving my handbag there (my entire life was in there). The staff found my bag and kept it safe until the next morning when I could collect it, not a thing missing. They also had another clutch bag of one of the other guests and a few other items as well that they kept safe. Also, the owner took my frantic call at 1.44am and assured me that she would check with her staff first thing in the morning, which she did.

Thank Danielle C

I felt sorry for a group of tourists who were there the night I went, as being Chinese they would not understand Afrikaans. The food is laid out in shifts, with the bread , butter and jam going out first so you can fill up on bread, and eat less fish. The food was ok, but not great. The venue is on a beach and is very rustic as it should be.
The drinks were surprisingly well priced, with the Goose Sauvignon Blanc cheaper than you can buy in the bottle stores
What spoilt the evening was when at the end, a staff member asked for tips for the cooks, and sent around a bucket to collect the money!

This beach venue casual restaurant feels like it has seen better days. Meals are served in a lunch and dinner ":shift" with a set menu and each menu selection offered to all the diners as it is prepared. Each offering is "presented" by a staff member on a megaphone in Afrikaans with no English translation which makes for a less than personable experience. While the offerings are mostly seafood, the food presentation and the dishes themselves don't exude a fresh-from-the-sea taste. Just ok. Night dining might be better.
