Friendly reception from waitresses, especially Tanika. We all had varying cuts of steak, ribeye,sirloin and fillet. The mussels as a starter were ok and I had the snails, which were just right on the garlic. Some restaurants overdo it but Butchers had it spot on. All cooked really well and to the specifications. We finished the meal with what was described as vanilla cake but tasted very much like a lovely light sticky toffee pudding.

Location is on the old railway platform with views of the harbour. Lots of history in the walls to view.

Lovely place for dinner out! The ambience is warm and the service great. Our server had us sit outside on the verandah where it was cooler. When the guests behind us asked for an ashtray she immediately informed us and suggested we move inside as we are non smokers. The staff went to great lengths to ensure a cool breeze by opening the outside doors. The steak was amazing, tender, tasty and grilled to perfection. It is our second visit, we visit Mosselbay from Jhb, and will not be our last. Thank you, Butcher’s Crossing, we’ll be back.

Lovely small but beautiful unique old fashioned style steak house . Reminds me of the Berni Inns that were famous in UK in the eighties . Choice of sides, offers good wines chicken & fish too .

Visited here with a close friend recently.

We were greeted on arrival by the manageress and the sole waitron, and seated immediately, a simple accomplishment because we were the only patrons here.

This establishment was previously a station waiting room and the ambience precisely matched its previous function.

My friend decided on the beef fillet, rare with a pepper sauce. It duly arrived, no long wait involved. He pronounced himself satisfied, in all respects, sauce, chips and all.

I briefly vacillated between The ribeye and the Beef ribs, ultimately settling I. the beef ribs.

Evidently this caused some confusion, because when my dish arrived, it turned out to be the Ribs and not the Ribeye.

I decided not to send the ribs back, and rather just to go with what had been delivered.

Well, the ribs were dismal. Some disjointed fragments of carcass arrived with absolutely no indication that they had ever been components on any kind of ribcage.

There was some flesh adhering to various short lengths of sinew and gristle that proved impervious to my utensils, never mind my teeth. This was somewhat short of expectations.

Our meal was rounded off by two excellent Dom Pedro's, served by our attentive pleasant waitress.

Pricewise, also, this is no bargain.
