an absolutely horrific experience. We ordered a seafood combo and the meal was served less than five minutes after we have ordered. Clearly the food was cooked in advance. The prawns and mussels were stone cold and tasted awful. A very arrogant owner/manger told us that the place is very busy and that they can't prepare food to order. It been made in batches and kept in a bain marine. I suggest he have his bain marines checked, because they not working properly. The only thing in that kitchen working properly, is the microwave. Please consider very carefully before going there. This place

We visited Sea Gypsy a couple of years ago and I remember the restaurant quite fondly. Great food, great service, perfect setting. So tonight when we wanted some seafood, I suggested them.

Being the 29t of December, and having no booking, we were prepared for a bit of a wait. But we were pleasantly surprised by a short wait and a very friendly host greeting us at the door. Unfortunately that's where the positives end.

We ordered crumbed mushrooms for starter and had a hake & chips, calamari, and calamari & hake combo between the 3 of us. Crumbed mushrooms arrived cold, but we figured it's December, it's busy, it happens. They were under seasoned and bland, with no presentation, just plonked onto a plate.

Mains arrived and the food was cold and unappetising. Sending back to the kitchen seemed a waste of time, since it could be reheated but not recooked. Fish batter tasted of cold flour and oil (although the fish inside was at least not dry or undercooked), chips were soft and mushy and under seasoned and calamari was oily and inedible.

We left feeling disgruntled and saddened by the decline in quality of the food. We did have a chat with the host and raised our concerns and left a contact number, and I will edit this review should we get a response through that channel.

All in all, I got the impression the restaurant values quantity over quality. I suspect food is premade and just heated up as it gets ordered. I would rather have waited a bit longer, if I had received quality food. Will definitely not be returning and it really is a shame.

Just because we are Asians coming in the waitress standing by the door was making remarks like "Ching Ching"
Very unpleasant and uncomfortable.
Food was ok, but a good meal can't substitute bad unwelcome feeling.

The seafood pasta was a mushy overcooked mess. When we mentioned it at the end of the meal the owner made a comment that didnt really make sense. Everything else was ok nothing to write about. Service staff was friendly. Nice beach vibe but some sauces were sitting out in the sun and didnt want to touch them.
