We found the staff were very helpful and welcoming. Great facilities for an overnight camping stop. Only recommendation would be additional showers for the number of campers. However ablutions are clean and showers worked well with Livy hot water.

We 'Stop Over' at Woodlands every three months in our home-to-home travels. The facilities are superb, the staff well informed and very helpful. It's more than a rest stop to us.

The camping sites are well maintained, good ablutions with hot water. In the past the lawns were green, but understandingly this is a very dry season. However, for an overnight stay the cost is becoming too much per person, and you have to pay for vehicle/trailer and the powerpoint extra. Wood packed in bags is very expensive, and is really only half a bag. One would need 2-3 bags per night for a decent fire. It is not always convenient to buy your own wood on the road due to the space it would take. For a family of 4 it was close to 1000 Pula to sleep for one night, and all you get is really the shower facilities. I have stayed many times at this lodge, it is a convenient stop-over, a little bit off the main road, but due to the fact that it is becoming too expensive, I would now give it an average rating. However, you know what you get for the money spent.

We appreciate all your observations and comments. We do work very hard at maintaining the establishment to that standards which have set for ourselves and with that comes a reasonable cost. Everything has increased in prices and we, as a business, have to keep a very close eye on income vs expenses. Our camping fees had not seen an increase since before 2020 hence they had to be increased. The add on costs of trailer fee and power points has also had to be evaluated as time went along.
Again the cost of wood may seem high but one has to take into account that it is 'mophane' wood, which is a lovely hard wood and takes a long while to burn. We require it cut to a certain length to fit into the appropriate packaging and that also comes at a cost. We are extremely sorry to hear that we have disappointed you but trust that you would still make use of our facility in the future when you travel again.
