We went on a walk of andasibe park in the morning and ate a lovely lunch at Vakona restaurant. In the afternoon we went on a wall around the reserve and visit the lumur island. Two hours is enough and you get to see lots of species.

Stunning experience with a great guide. Did extra islands to see the ring tailed lemur too. Such beautiful and intelligent creatures. A wildlife highlight in a wonderful country.

Good close up views of 4 species of lemur. Well laid out and not a zoo, great to paddle around island in a canoe and take in the environment. Good guides who tell you all about the rehabilitation programme and the life of lemurs

THis was great in that you could feed lemurs bananas and they will jump all over you. But our guide was no good and didn't say much and gave us 10 minutes on the island before taking us back. We felt cheated and that we had missed out based on the other things people have said they saw on the Island.

This was a fun experience and opportunity to get up close to three varieties of lemur. The Brown lemurs jump on you and are very engaging and gentle! The lemurs are all being rehabilitated - many had been pets so are being given a new life. There are 5 islands with varying degrees of human interaction. Breeding is encouraged and the lemurs are surrounded by water (they don't swim) so are safe from predators. This would be great for kids I think.... I did prefer seeing them in the wild but it was also nice to get up close. We saw brown lemurs, bamboo lemurs and white and black ruffed lemurs on island 1. That's the only one tourists visit.

The nearby 'zoo' was better than I had envisaged- the crocodiles have a reasonable enclosure but the fossa and other animals are caged. It was the only place we got to see a fossa.
