We are self-drivers and found so far every Lodge or other places we wanted to go. We had two different sat-naves but none of them found the village Khwai. No problem we had maps too and it is very good indicated. So, to find Khwai is easy. But to find the Khwai Bush Camp is everything but easy. There are absolutely no indicators showing where to go. It took us more than half an hour to find that lodge, after arriving in the village of Khwai.

The Lodge is nice and has only 6 houses which is great. Food is excellent and the drives are great (Mighty). Just the one who planned the infrastructure in these nice houses did not really a good job. In the bathroom is no plug socket but the only mirror in the house. So, if women would like to style their hair they have to do it in the living-room. There you can plug your hairdryer but there is no mirror. So not much of use. There is a possibility to charge all your electric devices. If you turn on the light in the bathroom you turn on the light in the bedroom, not really smart planning, especially when there are two switches but only one in use.

That Camp is in the bush and it is quiet until some people feel the need of flying in by helicopter. These were the managers of African Bush Camps. Completely unnecessary noise that disturbed me very much and it is an unnecessary air pollution. In my opinion a complete stupidity.

Later we met these people and said hello to them – no answer. The following morning two of them were at the breakfast table and again we said “good morning” no answer. I was Group CFO and deputy CEO of an international Hotel Group. That behavior of these folks is an absolute no-go! They can and have obviously al lot to learn from their employees. They disqualified themselves.

All the employees do a great job, are always very friendly and know what their guests expect. The game drives were extraordinary and Mighty our guide was really great. He has an incredible knowledge about the wildlife and nature. And he gets not tired to explain it to his guests.

We would go there again and we can highly recommend that lodge to other travelers. Last but not least to mention the interest and motivation Kay the manager in place showed. We had nice talks and he was always interested if we are happy or if we are missing anything. As I already mentioned, they all do a great job, thank you very much for such nice days we could spend in your lodge.

We stayed three nights at Khwai Bush Camp. Our guide Aubrey was relentless in ensuring that we saw all of the game in surrounding area. He was safety conscious throughout and met all of our requests. The food at the camp is good and well managed by Dudu. Indeed, it is the quality of the staff that made the camp a great experience.

Room tip: In winter months, May - September be sure and bring a wool sweater, light gloves, and a warm hat.

Th lodge, staff and the guide were all amazing. We stayed in Linyanti and Khwai and were happy to have both experiences. Great food and drinks--they happily accommodated our vegetarian diet. The staff were generous and thoughtful, anxious to make us comfortable (hot water bottles--thank you!). The guide at Khwai grew up in the area and could anticipate the movements of the animals, so we were usually one step ahead. And we had established before we chose African Bush Camps that there is a foundation connected to their business that uses funds to support local communities. The Camps are very attentive to sustainability and green initiatives. A good company that seems to take care of its employees. We highly recommend them.

For our 40th anniversary, we decided to spend some "bush" time in Botswana and stayed first in Linyanti Ebony (already posted on TA) and then at Khwai Bush Camp. We would like to thank all the staff at KBC especially Banda (exceptional guide - sightings of nearly everything including leopard, lion, wild dog), Teekay (host) and Dudu (host). Dudu and the staff treated us to a unique anniversary dinner on the deck and went out of their way to decorate the deck and the dining table with candles, flowers, lights, balloons and a special card. Thanks to all the staff - you are special people and made our stay amazing.

Wild dogs, leopard, lions, elephants, hippos, giraffe, zebra and lot more wildlife ... at Khwai Bush Camp you get close to the wonders of nature or rather you're right in the middle! We not only appreciated the respectful way of oberserving wildlife of our guide Mighty but also his huge knowledge and his passion. Whether during the bushwalk, the night game drive with the sighting of a giant eagle owl amongst others or during the daily game drives, we learned a lot from Mighty, just watching and enjoying in peace. Sharing some very rare moments like the encounter with the wild dogs while enjoying our sundowner, we became friends in a very short time.
Futhermore, we enjoyed the super service of the friendly crew with personal attention of host Kaytee, delicious food, the swimming pool with view, candle light dinner under the leadwood tree, the broma with traditional dishes, the snort of hippos or other animals in the night ... we were spoilt in every respect and will never forget. Three days, too short but filled with exceptional memories that will last till we meet again!

Thank you for this wonderful feedback, what a beautiful experience you had. I have shared this with our entire team it captures all that we strive to achieve.

Mighty truly is wonderful and full of such brilliant knowledge. Your trip may have been too short this time but it does mean you will have to come back and stay again. Until then keep well.
