Best to visit with a guide who can explain what is known about the maoi making and transporting to other sites on the island. Requires some walking but can be done by most people at a slow pace. Is very interesting and is a good backup to understanding the other maoi seen on the island. Is close to Tongariki so do both same day preferably this one first.
