We stayed over the Easter Holidays in the Loft Apartment and it far exceeded our expectations. An ideal base for exploring the Beacons and lovely local walks and a pleasure to come “home” and relax. Absolutely everything you could need in a rental property and more, right down to shoe polish!
The village offered a great choice of pubs and eateries and all on your doorstep, we were spoilt for choice. Everyone extremely friendly and hospitable, not least the hosts Natasha and Beth, who were always on hand if needed.
Lots to do in the surrounding area and a visit to The Big Pit is a must. It was a fascinating and informative experience and so worthy of a decent donation as the entry was free. We also enjoyed the Mountain Steam Railway trip, which was enjoyable and offered great views of the Beacons.
All in all a great place to visit and the best self catering accommodation we’ve ever stayed at.
We had a lovely time in the flat for a weekend break. It was clean and comfortable and really well laid-out. I was worried it would be too small for us as my partner is six foot four but (besides a little bit of stooping) he was fine! There are lots of nice places to eat on the doorstep and it's very quiet despite being on the high street.
Wonderful accommodation, great location and fantastic facilities. I would definitely stay again. The chocolate shop opposite is well worth a visit!
Superb stay in the studio apartment and have no hesitation in recommending Mortimer House. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Prior to and after booking, the owner Natasha promptly answered queries and Beth her housekeeper was very welcoming.
Perfect location in Crickhowelll with excellent places to eat close by - The Bear Hotel and the Dragon. Richards the butcher has really good locally sourced meat, we had some lovely steaks. If in the area we would definitely stay there again.
I stayed for a long weekend with the entire family so we rented out the whole house. Beth, Natasha's housekeeper was a wonderful host, very approachable and warm but not overbearing, first class etiquettes. Mortimer house was very different from staying at any chain self service apartment I have ever been to. I wasn't blown over by the pictures of Mortimer house (honestly speaking), but I realised as soon as I arrived why that was, the house is relaxing and comforting in a way that I doubt can be captured on camera or I could describe. There must have been a great deal of thought that went into creating the homely feel inside this place. I really enjoyed my stay, so did the entire family, we would love to return here one day. Not cheap but worth every penny and so must better than this Double Tree in Amsterdam i'm writing this message from.
