“Is an absolute must!”

We arrived with our two dogs Saturday afternoon, and we all received a warm welcome from Mike the owner. Sue had put out two throw-overs for the sofa, just in case our dogs decided to jump on the sofa! The tile floor in the downstairs area was very practical, especially with the dogs and muddy boots. The kitchen was like home from home, I cooked a roast dinner as it was packed with everything.
We slept really well as the bed was comfortable, and the bedding was good quality, an absolute must for me as I am very fussy with my bedding!!
Mike lent us his walking books, as we didn't come prepared as we are novices. I suggest to people who do not want to walk steep hills, to do the 5 miles round Usk reservoir.
We walked the Sugar loaf mountain, that was a beautiful walk, but be careful as there are sheep on the mountain, so I kept my dogs on the lead.
The Chateau is fairly close to everything but a car is needed to get to the shops.
We are looking forward to staying in the Chateau again, hopefully the summer so we can enjoy the BBQ in the enclosed garden.
Thank you Mike and Sue for our three day relaxing break, even if it was in December and it rained. Easy to find, no stress!!
Ps if you have dogs, have a meal at Bear Hotel, they will give the dogs a bowl of chicken!
