This is a wonderful place to stay, if I could give them more than 5 stars I even would. The cottage is perfect, has anything what you want and the onwers are an amazing lovely couple. We just felt like coming home and for sure we will be back, not only one time.
Firstly, the positives. This is a stunning location but not easy to find particularly as there was no one there on arrival, and no signs on the gate. Views from the living room and one bedroom are breathtaking, and the garden is great for the kids. The bungalow is very spacious and has plenty of games, blankets, books etc and there was a welcome bottle of fizz waiting for us. Rooms were of a good size and beds comfy.
The owners were very friendly on the phone (the day after arrival they popped in, and also phoned on our last day), and when the freesat box gave up, it was replaced the next day (with a lot of haggling).
Now sadly the downside of our experience. When we first approached the cottage we though it could not possibly be the right one as the external paintwork was flaked and aged, unlike the pictures online.
We were disappointed with the standard of cleanliness in the cottage - it needed a deep clean. It was tidy, and the bed sheets were perfect but the cottage itself really needs TLC and upgrading (we have pictures) - We appreciate the owners have other business concerns too and they really were lovely - but compared to the other rental property next door and what we paid for this, sadly it does not compare. We were told dogs were welcome, but on arrival it said in the notice sheet you can not leave them in the cottage which is a bit ackward if you want to just pop down to Dunvegan for shopping.
I would love to say we would return and we love Skye and Waternish but sadly we will be going elsewhere next time purely down to value for money.
A very well appointed and comfortable cottage, quiet location with stunning views. Would thoroughly recommend and would certainly return here. Lovely large fenced garden which is great for dogs. Only downsides to consider are that it is off the beaten track, so there is a good drive to get to main roads, and the showers are not very powerful. Wouldn't put us off though!

House was great-loads of space for 5 people and a dog-beautiful views especially from our favourite chair in the lounge. Jeanette is a great hostess, very kind and knowledgeable about Skye. There is a little jewel of a bread and cake box outside a house down the road which provided us with some yummy cookies and bread. We had great weather so lots of local exploring. Found a great beach near Gillen-prepare for an uphill stroll. One warning we made our way to Stein on foot and contrary to tripadvisor's 30min estimate it took nearer 60-however was well worth it spotting 3 Golden Eagle-2 Sea Eagle and porpoises in the little harbour. For eating out, personally we would suggest avoiding the Stein Inn and go a bit further to Dunvegan -The Ol School Restaurant's food was scrumptious and staff were smiley-Many thanks to Jeanette and David What a treat
