“the perfect cottage for a couple with children with the best beach view in the world.”
Reviewed 19 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We loved this house , we were there as a couple on their own and it was just right. we could happily have stayed there with up to 4 children. The view from the kitchen and sitting area or children's area is quite incredible and it is only a stone's throw from the silvery sand and turquoise water of the beach. we have already recommended it to friends and will definitely be going back. we walked every day , did not have time for fishing but had a great boat trip to St Kilda with Kilda Cruises.
There is not enough privacy to have 2 couples staying there without having a separating door or curtain to wall off the downstairs sleeping area.
great for 2 adults.

“A true escape to a remote and dramatic paradise”
Reviewed 10 December 2012 for a stay in May 2012

The isles themselves are utterly striking in their natural beauty, and the combination of tranquility and unreal scenery, but also numerous activities, makes this destination unforgettable. The house is ideally situated overlooking a picturebook white-sand beach and bay of numerous stunning moods. Warmly furnished and beautifully appointed, the accommodation provides an ideal base for plotting adventure and contemplating your almost primeval surrounds. We enjoyed cinematic drives and uplifting walks up hills and along beaches, and the tweed mill is certainly worth a visit to see - and perhaps splash out on - fabric older than most guests will be! The several towns dotted around the isle offer deliciously fresh food and an intimate window into local life. My only regret was not being able to stay longer, but I will certainly be back!

“Excellent getaway in a charming, comfortable cottage”
Reviewed 10 December 2012 for a stay in May 2012

I went in May 2012 soon after it opened and it was my first time to the Hebrides. The Cuckoo Cottage was in excellent condition and had all the amenities we could ask for. Even the traditional "box bed" was very comfortable. The cottage was quite warm despite the very cold temperatures outside.

We were given a list of things to do and see by the owners and were busy everyday exploring the islands. And the views were breathtaking! Look out for Toby, the beautiful wild white pony that roams the nearby dunes.

We plan on making another trip next year!

“Designer cottage with deluxe views”

We went on holiday to Harris in Spring this year and stayed at this fab cottage on Luskentyre beach. We haven't stopped thinking about it since!

The location is spectacular as the cottage looks down across the bay and onto the massive beach, which you can get to by strolling straight down from the driveway. Behind the house there is a big mountain which you can climb for incredible views.

We were particularly impressed by the cottage itself, which from the outside blends modestly into the scenery around it. Inside the cottage, which has been carefully decorated, there is a complete modern kitchen all kitted out with everything you need. They also installed a working Raeburn for good measure!

The bedroom is beautiful and light and the bathrooms are stylish and contemporary. One of the highlights was the bathroom upstairs - soaking in a roll top bath after climbing nearby Cheapabhal mountain. Another 'wow' was the traditional box bed build under the staircase.

The cottage and its location exceeded our expectations and was incredible value for money.

If we manage to escape to Harris next year we will definitely try to stay there again.
