“ideally situated cottage- beautiful views from both main rooms”
Reviewed 29 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Beautifully appointed cottage in ideal situation at head of Loch Seaforth well placed for exploring both Harris and Lewis being just of the main road but very quiet. Very welcoming but unobtrusive hosts. The cottage was very well equipped for four, including items such as picnic hamper and some toys etc. comfortable beds. Well looked after property. We enjoy bird watching and we saw the following from the cottage windows: arctic tern (colony to right of loch), common sandpiper often , golden eagle, goosander (regularly), black guillemot, gannet, stonechat family, and common seals often. The island itself is stunning with specular scenery, beautiful beaches and wildlife, friendly people and lots of interesting places to explore.

“Wow factor at every turn”
Reviewed 30 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Fisherman's Cottage is an ideal spot to experience Harris. Just check out the view from the kitchen sink and you will want to be here. The tallest mountains with Eagles flying among them are behind the cottage for magnificent walks and in front; crag lined water laps at a child friendly beach which is perfect for beach combing and dam building. The drive to Talbert and the Southern Harris beaches is the most magnificent view we have experienced a moon scape leads to huge expanses of yellow sand and clear blue/turquoise seas. A must is to visit Bart for Sea Kayaking at www.harris outdoor.co.uk we went with our 8 & 11year olds and he was brilliant.
Irene left home cooked food for us and was incredibly welcoming whilst also leaving us to it. We didn't see the dolphins in front of the house but seals swam up to us body boarding round the coast. Great house all mod cons, great location breath taking, great island.

“Lovely, cosy cottage with everything you could possibly need!”
Reviewed 18 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We came here in April for a week's holiday. It rained most of the week, with sunny intervals, and we had a lot of cloud and wind. However, we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay. To be able to come home at the end of the day to a warm, cosy cottage, a comfy bed, a hot shower and a stunning view of the Loch was just amazing. The only neighbours were the scattering of sheep outside. We never got bored of standing by the window, with the window open, just gazing out across the Loch and listening to the silence. It was so peaceful and we will miss it so much. The cottage had everything you could possibly want or need and the owners (who own the B&B next door) were so friendly and welcoming that you could pop over to ask them anything. We had wine and cakes on arrival and an ample supply of wood for the fire. There were loads of useful maps and guide books too. The cottage is ideally situated on the border between Lewis and Harris so you can easily get out and about to explore both islands without too much driving. We were very sad to leave at the end of the week and would definitely love to go back another time. We weren't so lucky with the wildlife spotting but we think the weather was to blame! We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a chilled week of rest and relaxation in beautifully quiet surroundings.

“A lovely cottage in a magnificent location”
Reviewed 25 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

The property is well situated to visit the attractions of both Lewis and Harris which is important as the island(s) are of significant size. The view from the cottage is quite superb looking along Loch Seaforth with the hills and mountains around. The cottage was well equipped with everything one would expect and also includes wifi, a monocular for viewing the scenery and a range of maps. The owners were very friendly and try their best to make sure you have a great holiday.

“Location location location”
Reviewed 3 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Just stayed in this cottage for a week. Cottage is great and the view down Loch Seaforth across to Skye is amazing. Sat on bench outside and watched golden eagles soaring and land on hill across the loch. Will be back!!!!
