Description: The Old Clubhouse is situated in central Gullane, overlooking the locally famed links course. Built in 1890, this attractive half-timbered venue was originally intended to be a meeting place for Gullanes golfers, and though the club soon outgrew it, The Old Clubhouse remains popular with those fresh off the greens and maintains the exclusive ambience of a members club, with its reputation for fine food and warm welcome spreading far beyond the town itself. Unsurprisingly, a strong golfing theme is seen throughout the bar, with plenty of old photographs of the course and the club as well as quirky memorabilia dotted around the space, cosy club chairs and deep banquettes providing comfortable seating, encouraging you to stay and relax beyond your meal. Drawing on local produce, The Old Clubhouses menu is eclectic and inspiring, particularly known for its steaks and fish, the central offerings of the mainly pub-food-with-a-twist collection of dishes. The wine list is as well considered as the food offerings, and The Old Clubhouse has recently become known for homemade ice creams and sorbets, the ideal treat after a hard morning of stick and ball.

Have stopped here a couple of times with our three young children on our way back to Edinburgh. Fantastic location with lovely views. Really enjoy the food (fresh, homemade, great quality) served in a nice, relaxed setting. The seating outside is perfect on a warm, sunny day. Like the icecreams available in cones to take away too. Would be good to see a main meal salad on the menu. Ordered one from the sides and it was really nice.

I have been here several times and have had from Steak to Fish and Chips and never been disappointed. They also have a fantastic bar that is very well stocked with Gin, Scotch and beer. Its a great pub with a lively atmosphere.

Holidaying in the area, visiting family, we found The Old Clubhouse purely by chance. We had a lovely walk on Gullane Beach and we were just wondering where to eat when the lady in the ice cream van suggested this place. We rang to check they accepted dogs (they do) and booked a table for 10 minutes' time.
Nicely located - as you would imagine - on the edge of a golf course, there is plenty of parking on the road.
Our table for 7 was waiting for us and the staff could not have been more friendly or attentive.
Our food order came promptly and the food was fantastic. The menu was very extensive, with Japanese, Italian, English and or course Scottish Influences.
I ordered Cullen Skink - a hearty Scottish 'soup' with smoked haddock, leeks, potatoes, cream and wine. I had never had it before and our waitress told me theirs was famous locally. I can see why - it was amazing! It came with lovely granary bread but it was so filling I couldn't eat it all! One of our party had Macaroni Cheese Burger - Yes, mac 'n' cheese in a burger shape covered in breadcrumbs, in a bun! Apparently it was fabulous! All the food was lovely - not your standard pub grub - definitely a notch up from that. Just great, hearty, well-cooked food.
Dogs are welcome, but have to eat and drink outside, and there are dishes and a tap outside for them.
All-in-all a great find and we will be back. Thank you!

The squid you used to have on the menu were lovely.
Cullen skink is one of the best I’ve had.
Chicken and mayo wrap had way too much mayo. Didn’t care that much for it all. I didn’t see it on the menu lately.
Me and my boyfriend will come back because we love Gullane and we really like the old clubhouse, however!!!!! You have a member of staff, a middle aged blond lady who is the most unhappy waitress we ever come along. She seems always upset when it’s getting busy, has no problem rolling her eyes and just have a terrible attitude. We are both amazed that she gets away with her attitude.
Please do something about it. We would have happily tell you about it while at the old clubhouse, but we just can’t seem to recognise the owners or the general manager.
It’s so obvious that the kitchen is doing really well. Front of house has to step up, try and be better.
