“A super spacious property with great amenities”
Reviewed 1 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Located 1 mile from Springholm just off the A75, the coach house is a wonderful spacious property and a great base to explore the scenery of Dumfries and Galloway.
The property is owned and run by the very friendly Juliet and Alan who are very welcoming and attentive to your needs.
The property can be split into two self contained areas or can be shared as one large area offering 6 bathrooms and 6 bedrooms. It will comfortably sleep 12 but extra beds and sofa beds mean you can potentially accommodate more but Juliet will advise on maximum numbers.
Both parts of the property have excellent amenities with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, ample storage space and seating. Both also have TV's with great surround sound systems for playing DVD's. There is a huge selection of DVD's to choose from but you can always bring your own
There is a laundry room which includes a washing machine and tumble drier.
Another great attraction for the property is the games/cinema room.
It contains a table tennis table, air hockey and table football. There is also seating for the fantastic cinema projector which also includes an awesome sounding surround sound system. Put on Jurassic Park and you feel like you are in the cinema. There is also a fridge, and basin so you can take your drinks to enjoy whilst watching a film. Juliet also provides Popcorn.
You also have the convenience of a toilet at the back of the room which also doubles up as a wet room with shower.
Juliet will take you to see her Lammas and chickens and if you ask nicely, Alan will take you out on his motorbike and sidecar which is great fun with the wind in your face.
Alan even kindly took me to a wonderful stretch of river where we caught a few trout including a nice 3lb rainbow.
The Bladnoch Distillery is not yet open but the visitor centre should be ready in 2018. The other distillery is at Annan with the Annandale distillery opening in the last 3 years. There is a great visitor centre with an excellent coffee shop, cakes and other savoury refreshments. The tour of the distillery is well worth doing and you finish off in the bonded warehouse where you can taste their new make spirit. I particularly liked the peated version. It shouldn't be too long before they will be bottling some of their whiskey which is currently maturing in oak barrels.

If you like the outdoors then the Laggan outdoor centre has a great zip wire, archery, clay pigeon shooting, segway tours, reverse steer jeep, waterballing and grass sledging.

If you like walking, the scenery is wonderful in the Galloway Forrest park.

I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Dumfries and Galloway and the accommodation at the Coach House.

Thanks to Juliet and Alan for making us so welcome

Thank you so much for the very detailed and kind description of the place. Alan particularly likes the advice to ask him nicely to take people out in the sidecar! He's just sorry he slept in on the last morning. He wasn't being kind taking you fishing - he loves an excuse to go fishing just as Juliet loves introducing kids to the llamas. We do hope we see you again next year!

“Perfect Wedding”
Reviewed 28 July 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Having looked at numerous different types of venues, we absolutley fell in love with the Coach House. The venue was secluded, intimate and rural which is exactly what we was looking for.
We hired a pagoda for the ceremony and had our reception in the second, smaller coach house which we decorated ourselves. We also used a local catering company, Caterbirds, which i could not have been more happy with.
The day / weekend was perfect and Juliet and her partner couldn't have been more helpful, not just on the weekend but in the months leading up to the wedding itself.
This place is a quirky alternative wedding venue but the Coach House is also the perfect place to stay for a few days break from the usual hectic working life.
I would highly recommend this place.

Thank you so much for the lovely review. We're delighted that you enjoyed your special day here. Alan enjoyed it immensely too, including the jamming session with the guests, and he has no idea what time he went to bed!
We wish you both lots of good luck with everything.

“Beautiful house”
Reviewed 23 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

I stayed here back in June as part of a artist residency. The accommodation was really beautiful, comfortable and large enough to allow people to have their own space when needed. It was clean, well kitted out and the owners were really helpful and accommodating. There are Llamas, cats and chickens on site as well as some house martins! I'd definitely love to return in the future with family.

“Peace and tranquility ”
Reviewed 30 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

The wife and I have just returned back after a short break here with the kids, also the brother in law and his kids. Wow blown away with the size of the place, fantastic location for sightseeing, our hosts Juliet and Alan made us most welcome upon our arrival, with Alan's tour of the place very informative and sussed the kids right away " wi-fi" code and then the games room, nicely done Sir.
The house is spotless and very homely and the home baking upon our arrival was a lovely touch. Everything you need for cooking is there, and the nearest supermarket is 15mins away. So enjoy the peace and quiet away from the world.
Definitely want to go back again and book the motorbike and sidecar tour in the nicer weather. My daughter loved feeding the llamas and thanks to Juliet for this experience .
There knowledge of places of interest to visit is great, with things suitable for all ages.

Thank you for the great review. Alan susses kids out quickly because he is a big kid! The llamas were pleased to meet your daughter and we would be delighted if you came back again, and booked a sidecar trip in the sunshine. I hope P's mother is able to visit us next time as well.
