Nice cosy cottage. Very clean and well equipped. We had a great time. Lovely walks nearby which our dog enjoyed.
We stayed here last week with our 2 friends and their dogs and had a great time. The cottage is in a great location for touring this part of Shropshire, ( Shrewsbury, Attingham Park National Trust, Ludlow, Bishops Castle and Clun). It is particularly convenient for the Long Mynd and Carding Mill Valley, and has a wonderful view over Caer Caradoc. We did a few lovely walks form the Cottage (including Caer Caradoc) without having to use the car, the walk into Church Stretton via pleasant footpaths parallel to the road takes a leisurely 30 minutes.
The cottage is warm and very comfortable and extremely well equipped, the welcoming pack was particularly generous too. You won't need to bring any books, DVDs or games, and there is a lovely patio area to sit out on, we even managed to do it in late October/early November, although we were very lucky with the weather.
A very minor downside is the parking which is tight for 2 cars, but thsi is a minor inconvenience in the scheme of things.
We would definitely return to this lovely cottage in this beautiful part of the country.
We were lucky to meet Sharon and Wayne, the owners, just as we were leaving, they are a charming lovely couple, who are rightly proud of their great cottage.
This was our first visit to this lovely cottage but certainly not our last!
We arrived to find a basket full of goodies and a bottle of wine in the fridge. There were even treats waiting for our dog! Thank you Sharon and Wayne.
The cottage is so well equipped wth information about the area and walks - the Long Mynd is literally just UP the road. There is a super selection of books and videos for cosy nights in.
The views from the cottage are glorious and we look forward to returning in the spring to enjoy eating al fresco in the pretty garden.
We had a brilliant short break at Hollywell Cottage with family celebrating our first wedding anniversary. The cottage is lovely and every detail has been thought of to make the stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Location is fantastic and the views were amazing. Sadly we weren't blessed with good weather so could not enjoy the outside area so much, however this did not impact our stay as it meant nice cosy nights in by the fire playing board games.
We will definitely be returning and cannot thank Sharon enough for everything (the welcome pack was very much appreciated and the homemade flapjacks were delicious, just what we needed after our journey down)
