2 visits in 2 days - the first as a couple, the second as a family with young grandchildren.

Both visits were a great success, despite extremely wet underfoot conditions. We tried to make it to the waterfall, but not prepared to get a feet soaked. Made it to the reservoir instead. The scenery and tranquility was stunning.

The second trip was on Easter Sunday when everybody and his dog decided to visit, although this did nothing to dampen our love of the place.

Lovely large NT tearoom finished both lovely visits - we certainly would love to come back but next time with walking boots rather than walking shoes !!

Thank Peter J

Easy walking to the summit if you park near the wood. Yesterday we could see from the Brecon Beacons round to Cader Idris and even spotted Snowdon 101km away.

This is a must see if you are in the area for a short visit or holiday. Great for walkers and for mountain bikers. We did both. Had great fun on some of the downhill mountain bike trails. If your not that fit, hire one of the e-bikes at one of the local bike shops & get out there!

We arrived at one of the roads to drive up to the top, due to me having a 4 month old new hip. But a snow gate blocked us from driving up there. So we parked in the lane and spoke to a couple of para gliders who said it was snowy and icy, also very steep! I decided to go up a little way anyway but by taking my time ended up at the top! Views were amazing! The road by the time we got up there was fine just a little snow but easily driveable. Be warned it is very windy up there so tuck your hair away! I didn't think the road was "hairy" at all, try a few of the passes in Cumbria if you want scary!!

Part of the Shropshire Hills, the Long Mynd is an absolute must see location. Stunning landscape and fab views are a plenty.
