My husband and I stayed at Thursdays Corner for a few nights over Christmas to be close to family. We were really blown away by the high quality of the renovation work that the owners have done. The cottage feels very modern, spacious, and luxurious, but at the same time it is packed full of Tudor period features. You really feel you are staying in a piece of history!
The cottage was extremely well equipped with everything you could want for self-catering, as well as a comfortable super-king size bed, WiFi, and a log burner (with fuel and instructions!). We also appreciated the welcoming touches from the owners, including having some Christmas decorations.
There are numerous walks that you can start from the front door into the Shropshire hills, and it is less than a 5 minute walk into the town centre for food shopping, pubs and restaurants. All in all, we couldn’t recommend this cottage more highly, and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
Had a really nice 4-night winter stay in this cottage. The cottage itself has been very nicely modernised, with the space well-used such that it doesn't feel as small as it looks from the outside! Kitchen is extremely well fitted out with appliances and cooking equipment, and the sofa makes a very comfortable sofa bed if you need it to. Also really enjoyed lighting the log burner on a long, dark winter night.
The location is good - a short walk into the centre of Church Stretton, which has enough shops (and fancy delicatessens etc) to keep you going - my mother and I ended up visiting the local ironmonger's shop twice because they had such a good range of unexpected things! Bus stop is right outside, although we didn't use it because we came by car - parking is on-street but we had no problems with it.
Given where Church Stretton is, it's also possible to walk directly from the cottage - we went for an afternoon stroll up Carding Mill Valley and ended up climbing to the top of the Long Mynd and only just making it down again before dark! Well worth it though, lovely scenery.
Generally, a well-located cottage which has been refurbished with comfortable living in mind. A very nice place to spend a few days.
Thurday's Cottage is simply wonderful - we wanted for nothing and the standard of the fittings was top-notch. The position in the village, i.e. right on the southern boundary of Church Stretton, is similarly perfect: a short walk to all the necessary facilities. The cottage has been sympathetically refurbished to retain and feature the original beams without any sacrifice to comfort. In short, perfect.
Super cottage, sympathetically and imaginatively renovated to a quality not normally found in holiday rentals and presented in a most welcoming fashion by Leigh. The cottage is well positioned in Church Stretton enabling the village amenities to be reached on foot; public transport is also readily available should it be needed for longer excursions.
This was just a 3 day "taster trip" to Shropshire but we want to return when, hopefully, the weather will be rather better and Thursday's Corner will be our preferred destination; a little gem!
Fantastic cottage, with everything you could possibly think of. Wi-Fi,log burner.Welcome pack. Close to amenities but lovely and quite. Can't wait to go back.
