This was our third stay during an 8 night holiday on the West coast. The hotel was spotlessly clean and comfortable and warm: one night the fire in the hall was lit which was really lovely.

From the warm welcome on arrival until we said goodbye the service was impeccable, being both friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and the hotel has a really wide choice of beers and wines including 2 draught beers.

The location of the hotel is also very special with lovely views over to Skye.

All in all a great stay and would highly recommend the hotel.

My wife and I stayed overnight on a Saturday and had a really wonderful stay and experience. We'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to the Wester Ross area.

We're Scottish and (mainly as we detest the experience of air travel) purposely haven't holidayed outside Scotland for a decade, even if sadly this leaves us somewhat underwhelmed on more occasions than we'd like. Thankfully, this was most certainly not the case at the Myrtle Bank, where from start to finish you were greeted with a very personal and genuine high level of service.

We stayed in room 11, overlooking the sea in a very comfortable, well appointed and really spacious room.

As previous reviewers have also highlighted, the choice and quality of food at the hotel is excellent. The range on offer for dinner was very good with the actual meals delicious and generously proportioned. At breakfast, the selection on offer was the best I've seen for a considerable time and the freshness of fruit especially good.

Overall, an extremely positive experience at a hotel where you came away feeling you were a valued customer and the staff would happily oblige with anything to make your stay as comfortable and relaxed as possible. After too many 'misses' on the West Coast of Scotland, it was refreshing to enjoy such a resounding 'hit'! Thanks to all the hard-working team, front and back of house at the Myrtle Bank.

This was our second stay at this property, which we stayed at 4 years earlier. Did not fail to disappoint.Beautiful location and lovely staff. We booked a twin seaview room with lovely views out across the inlet. Beds were comfortable with free wifi, tea & coffee making facilities, hair dryer and toiletries. Again had dinner and drinks in the restaurant and small bar area. Very substantial and well cooked meals and a very extensive Gin menu. This is an excellent location and base for discovering the highlands by car. Great hospitality, beautiful views and value for money at the Myrtle Bank and highly recommended again.

We were shown to our table my a member of staff who explained what food was available. We could choose from the menu or the specials board. This was a very extensive choice. Lots of locally sourced seafood and meat, also vegetarian options. We chose the exotic sounding Monkfish coconut curry. Served with a popadom and mango Chutney. Portions were good and it looked great. The Monkfish was very good but the curry lacked a bit of finesse and punch. It was better than average but not very good.

Stayed here for one night and the only slightly negative comment would be that the bed was a bit soft for our liking but that's a personal choice and didn't distract from our overall rating. The evening meal was fantastic and well presented as was breakfast. The staff were very amenable and made you feel welcome. The décor may be a bit tired but very clean and comfortable. Next time we are in Gairloch we would book the Myrtle without hesitation.
