We have just returned home from a 1 night stay at this hotel. It’s an impressive big old house which more than met our expectations. The hotel is beautifully decorated and furnished in keeping with the age of the building. Everything is extremely clean and well kept.
Reception staff, Evan, was very friendly and welcoming and went over and above to accommodate me for our cream tea requirements. Thank you Evan and chef.
Our room was a classic double, which was small but adequate. The bathroom was nice and had been upgraded. Room 8 is above the kitchen area, so be aware that there can be noise from below.
The food we had at dinner, was fabulous! 3 course meal for £49 per person is more than average perhaps, but worth every penny. The flavours were superb and the waitress was so friendly and accommodating to all guests in the dining room.
Breakfast was a good variety of different options which were served to us. All ingredients were locally sourced and were all really tasty.
All staff are a credit to the hotel, including the lovely lady we spoke to who was co-ordinating the cleaning of the rooms.
Wonderful hotel, food and staff. We will be back.

We had my sons wedding at Shieldaig Lodge. Lisa and her team made it a perfect occasion. Nothing was too much trouble. The setting is stunning. The views over the Loch are breathtaking and gave us brilliant wedding photos. The quality of the food was definitely 5*. Thank you Shieldaig for making the weekend so special.

Room tip: Definitely worth the extra to book a loch side room.

As our trip to Thailand is postponed due to COVID we booked a few nights away closer to home.

The Lodge is beautifully restored and is in a stunning location right by the water. Whilst there’s no escaping your in the Scottish Highlands, the Lodge hasn’t fallen into the trap of stereotypical tacky Scottish decor! It manages to be sophisticated and friendly. It felt more like staying with friends than staying in a hotel.

We were in room 5 - all good. The wifi is weak in the whole area so be prepared for a break from tech (and streaming!)

The food is good and they have a huge selection of whisky and gin, and nice wines.

The perfect place for singles / couples to unwind. I’d think twice about taking young children there.

The staff are excellent - professional, friendly snd helpful - they make the place what it is; a real haven.
