“Lovely cosy cottage”
Reviewed 22 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We have just returned from a three night stay in this lovely cottage. It is only a few minutes walk to the centre of Staithes. The views are exquisite. If u r looking for modern this is not the place for you. No phone signal, there is wifi but we could not get it to connect but we didn't bother contacting the housekeeper as we wanted to relax and this enabled us too. We will definitely return.

SO pleased you enjoyed your stay. These days the wi-fi is usually very reliable so can't think what happened. Our housekeepers are always happy and on hand if anyone has any problems - like us, they want everyone to have the best time possible.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the beautiful view from the cottage. Our location is second to none. We have noted your comments. We are one of the few cottages in Staithes who still allow pets and as a result, the carpets can get marked. It's difficult for the cleaners to make a big difference inbetween guests coming in, but we do have the floors professionally cleaned throughout four times a year. However, this winter we will be either reviewing our pet policy or changing to floorboards and rugs.

We are so sorry this happened. It is a mystery how a cat got into the cottage and we wish you had reported the problem when you stayed six months ago so our housekeepers could have cleaned up. They are very dedicated and are dismayed to hear this story. They would definitely have come out late at night if you had called them.

my husband and I and 2 little dogs have just spent 3 nights in this lovely little cottage,it was just what we expected from reading the reviews,it is in a great position with a beautiful view , it had everything we needed and more , we were surprised how warm and cozy it was as the weather was pretty cold and with the added bonus of the coal fire ! Perfect , our two little dogs loved the walks along the Cleveland way and running on the beach then snuggling down in front of the fire ,I hope we will return for a second visit and just to add Jackie and Max ,s communication made it very easy for us and we felt they genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay.

Thanks for such a lovely review - you are right, we hope everyone loves the cottages as we do. We feel privileged to have such a great spot and are delighted to share it. Waking up to the view really is inspirational. If the dog wasn't so downright territorial (he's a terrier) we'd like to think he'd be happy your dogs enjoyed curling up in front of the fire...
