Cottage was in the perfect location with stunning views. Well equipt but as I am a bit of a tidy freak I found it a bit cluttered and had to put some of the trinkets away before I could relax but once sorted it was just lovely. Would return.

“Little Gem in Staithes !”
Reviewed 13 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Linda and I stayed April 7th 2014 for 3 nights. This place is a little gem!
Jackie , the owner was very helpful right from the first enquiry about booking. She even arranged for the fire to be laid ready for our arrival .
Her excellent directions meant that we had no problem finding the cottage .
The cottage was perfect for our needs - homely, clean and comfy ! A perfect base for us to explore locally . Lovely views over the beck and handy for the footbridge into the village of Staithes with its pubs and bistro.

What a bonus having the use of the parking permit to have the car outside the cottage ! Make sure your handbrake is fully on because it's quite a steep lane !

We explored Staithes itself when we got there and had a pint in the George . It's a lovely place with some lovely nooks and crannies and gorgeous cottages.

We spent the next day in Whitby with easy parking near the railway station. The highlight had to be a leisurely lunch of cod, chips , mushy peas and a pint at the celebrated Fish and Chip restaurant -The Magpie . Excellent!

We dropped in again the next day before going on to Robin Hood's Bay which was lovely. Park in car/coach park at the top and walk down the steps to the bottom of the village. Lovely. Nice little cafe on the way down. We walked back up by the sea path and had lunch at the Victoria - good service and meal!
We slept well in the comfy bed and were very grateful for the efforts of Mandy and Keith in ensuring the cottage was ready for us .
A really nice place to stay - thanks.x

“great spot”
Reviewed 5 April 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We had a wonderful short break in No5.. the view from the bench at the front door is great- sitting chatting to the locals and sipping wine..i really could have stayed longer! It does have the best view in Staithes.

The cottage has parking - on a VERY steep incline..just outside, you step into good small kitchen, and then a quaint living area- with open fire place ( remember to take fuel)- a large sofa and a small table and chair- everything for 2.

The bedroom was nice- another good view from the window- a great comfy bed. The bathroom is small and the water temperature did fluctuate ALOT...also the pressure. The problem was dealt with promptly by the local contact man.....

We hope to return soon.

“A little gem, anytime of year!”
Reviewed 7 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

My partner and I recently spent a week at this cottage and although we have been to the Fishermen's Cottages before this is the first time out of season. Frankly we were wondering how it would work. In the past our summer visits have been brilliant. The cottage is in one of the best locations with a magnificent view and sunny position. It has lovely unspoilt views of the harbour from the bench outside and from where one can also enjoy the the charm of the many cottages and rooftops on the other side of the beck, just so evocative of an earlier time. Parking outside the cottage is a big bonus.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and cosy and very thoughtfully equipped with guide books and everything you need. We didn't allow the the sometimes miserable weather to hinder our enjoyment of our week there. We had days out in Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, Goathland and the moors and coastal walks when weather permitted. We spent evenings at the Bistro, local pubs and had suppers indoors by the fire - wonderful! All in all a great out of season break.
