Four of us have just stayed and had a wonderful weekend. I've visitedLouth many times over the years as I used to have family here, and we still call in several times a year, but this is the first time we have actually stayed overnight.
And The Crow's Nest was great accommodation. It was bigger than it appeared on the pictures, well presented, lovely views, spotlessly clean. Plus it's in an ideal location, secluded and quiet, right next to the pretty walks around Hubbard's Hills, and yet near enough to town that you can walk into the centre within a few minutes (Passing a lovely old pub too, should you need to break this journey up even further :-)
Louth itself is a lovely old Georgian town, and to me still a 'proper old town' in that it still has lots of independent and long established shops there, selling high quality produce, rather than the bland soulless clones of the same old big names that nearly every other town seems to be these days.
As for the golf club, where the accommodation is above, despite being non-golfers we were shown excellent hospitality by both staff and members alike, who were all very friendly and helpful. We also had a meal there on the Friday evening, which was grill night so we had steak, and this was all cooked to a very high standard and also at very reasonable prices (It was the best meal we had all weekend, and we didn't have any bad day ones anywhere).
So all in all, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and all said that we would definitely stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone.
