I have visited this centre both for a day visit and for an experience day flying owls.
Great facilities, wonderful staff, great fresh cooked food. But the real stars have to be the birds themselves. A great place to learn about birds of prey both in captivity and in the wild. Brilliant flying demos - several per day. Excellent talk-over while this is going on. Thoroughly enjoyed my trips last year and looking forward to a hawking day there in 2011. (Thank you for the gift voucher - you know who you are!)

We visited on 18th August with some friends and our children. We arrived at noon and had plannned to stay for a couple of hours. We were still there when it closed.

I had been there twice before, once around 1975 and also in 1985. It has lost none of its fascination.

I am a bit of an amateur cameraman and was able to get some great photos. Most of the birds are in cages but in the 'hawk walk' I was able to get some good close up shots of the birds that are on perches.

The flying displays were the best beits. We saw Eagles and Falcons, and a very amusing Burrowing Owl. It was quite windy so some of the larger birds had a bit of difficulty flying.

Our visitors were so impressed that they have planned to come back for the Owl Evening in October when the birds fly in the dark.

My 20 year old daughter and I visited the Centre in early August 09 for a full day Experience of flying birds and learning all about these beautiful creatures. The facility is clean; beautiful and relatively easy to find. Once there for our full 8 hour day we met the Internationally respected Jemima Parry Jones who runs this facility for our hands on experience. She and her very competent staff not only helped us feel comfortable around these creatures, but taught us so much in this one day that I still cannot believe it. This facility offers many different courses or you can just walk the grounds to see these birds. There is a nice Cafe for lunch and the entire facility is nicely maintained. What I really saw was Jemima Parry Jones as well as her staff wanted to impart to their visitors their knowledge of; love for and abilities with these amazing birds. This is a must hands on experience. Visit her on the web at: www.[--].org/. This is a train trip out of London to another world as far as I am concerned, and certainly one my daughter and I will always remember. Take a look at just a few of the over 100 pictures we took!
