“A wonderful, homely base with superb facilities”
Reviewed 16 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

What a great find! This townhouse in the centre of Padstow has been converted into a superb place to stay.
Downstairs, the large modern kitchen/ diner is light filled and has everything, plus a large corner sofa & tv, you can live in there! Also the downstairs toilet & shower are great for larger parties. The separate lounge is cosy and grown up! Personally I would remove the window frosting which is slightly peeling - the window doesn't need it!
Upstairs is all stripped floors, rugs and white! Perfect decor for Cornwall. The front bedrooms have views to the sea & beach! 2 great size bedrooms and a smaller room with bunks. Beautiful double walk-in shower & stand-alone double-ended bath in the main bathroom - lovely!
We found scones, jam, process on our arrival, plus tea, coffee, biscuits - a nice touch, plus kitchen essentials like washing up liquid, cloths, tea towels, dishwasher tablets etc. The patio area is very nice, with hardy planting around the edges, and it also gets the sun! There is an outside shower & also a gas bbq provided.
I was worried about parking, but there are two large public car parks up the hill from the house, and it's easy to pull up outside the house on the opposite side of the road, hazards on, unload and then drive up. The walk back takes a minute, if that. We always parked in the further car park, with a 24 hr ticket, and walked down the steep slope & past a small row of cottages to the holiday rental.
I would not hesitate to recommend this holiday rental. It was very clean, modern, coastal, and spacious. Don't be put off by the outside front aspect. It's on a narrow street, the dustbin is at the front & the window frosting is peeling, but as soon as you step through the front door you will realise it's a great place to stay! A real home from home! We will definitely return!

“Location, location, location ..... And everything else!”
Reviewed 3 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

A party of six were kept entertained, comfortable, well fed and relaxed at Kittiwake.
It is ideally located for everything ..... Beach, harbour, shops, restaurants and cafes and entertainment ....buskers, art show, galleries, fishing , walking .... Whatever suits!
The house is well-appointed with everything a family needs and the outside walled-dining area had a great BBQ; the fairy lights added some romance ! We had great weather so lived out there ; an outside shower was ideal for washing out wetsuits.
The welcome pack of scones, jam, clotted cream and wine was a lovely touch.
We will go back as Padstow and Kittiwake are worth revisiting.

“Another world”
Reviewed 4 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Just returned from this lovely part of the world and had a fabulous time.

The cottage has a superb location within just a few minutes walk to the harbour centre and Mr Steins St Petrocs bistro is just a few doors down.

First a few gripes, there is no longer a parking permit at the cottage but the owner kindlly paid our car parking - so just a bit of a pain for the driver in the party to drop us all off after trips out and then find somewhere to park which he managed to do easily enough. The outside of the house needs at the very least a good clean if not a lick of paint and the small courtyard at the rear needs the same. Not a huge expense to do and numerous people in the guest book made the same comment. However, this certainly did not spoil our stay.

Inside the house is as lovely as it is on the pictures. We had a few minor maintenance issues but to be fair the maintenance company sorted them on the same day so again, can't say fairer than that. We were out all day and when we were at home we spent most of the time in the lovely kitchen/diner area. The cottage had everything you could think of and we loved it.

Padstow itself is gorgeous - another world - and we would be happy to return to Kittiwake and recommend it to friends.

Thank you for your helpful comments - these were acted upon and the exterior of the house and the courtyard were painted mid-July. As we live in Manchester and do not get to visit the house very often, we rely upon the online remarks and yours was very helpful. If you book again, please highlight your helpful review and I will be happy to offer a small discount.
with very best wishes

“Great location, clean and modern”
Reviewed 17 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

I stayed here with my husband, 4 year old daughter and 8 month old son for 4 nights and we all had a lovely time. The house was spacious, modern and clean, essential when you have a baby crawling around everywhere. There were a few issues but the owner and property management company addressed them quickly and satisfactorily. The location was fantastic - all the lovely shops and restaurants of padstow were just round the corner. Highly recommend.

Stayed at Kittiwake with family - all adults. The two double bedrooms are of nice size. However, the bunkbed in the third bedroom is only suitable for young children so will not sleep six adults. Location is absolutely fabulouslybeing in close proximity of Padstow with Rick Stein's bistro restaurant right by the doorstep. Great news for foodie. Convenient for shopping and also for food shop as Tesco is just up the hill, a 10 minutes walk. The house was well equipped with all the essential. There were a few issues we experienced which we reported to the house management company but not all resolved.
