“Gorgeous cottage handy for both Edinburgh and the seaside.”
Reviewed 15 September 2013 for a stay in July 2013

This cottage exceeded all our expectations. Beautifully decked out, all the extras were there that make a difference- dishwasher tablets, soap, washing powder fot that unplanned load of washing and books and toys for the kids. And with edinburgh just 25 mins away on a direct train and a beautiful coastline with castles and seabirds nearby i can't fault it.

“Wow, we'll worth the drive”
Reviewed 18 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Great base to explore the beautiful coast of North Berwick and Dunbar and stunning castles. Beaches beautiful and empty. Great base for exploring Edinburgh too, walking to the station at Drem was easy and just 25mins into Edinburgh, just don't miss the last train back!

“Byre cottage”
Reviewed 28 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Lovely quiet unique accommodation at a reasonable price. V clean with all the amenities you could ask for including some outside space (we had a barbecue). Loads to do nearby at north Berwick (less than 10 mins drive) we stayed with kids but would also suit couples looking to spend quality time together. Highly recommended and good, clear communication from the owners from point of enquiry to actual stay. Highly recommended.

“Fantastic location, beautiful, clean cottage”
Reviewed 24 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Whilst researching cottages to rent near Edinburgh, we came across this little gem. The cottage is located about 25 mins drive from Edinburgh City Centre, with excellent road links to the fabulous sights and attractions around East Lothian (of which there are many!).

The owners are lovely welcoming hosts - we have always had reservations about staying in cottages which adjoin the owners' property, but Giles and Sarah were unintrusive and comfortingly nearby in case we needed anything.

Although there is no garden at the property, there is an outdoor dining table and chairs in the enclosed courtyard, which we found to be a lovely suntrap and sheltered from the wind.

For some reason, we thought the rooms would be much smaller than they turned out to be – perhaps the photos don’t do it justice! The beds are extremely comfortable, and the underfloor heating in the bathroom is lovely.

Will definitely book another stay here if we visit the area again!
