This was our third annual stay at Dale Meadow and once again we had a fabulous weekend. The weather was mixed, as you would expect in March but the cottage is perfect for enjoying the local area rain or shine. We enjoyed 3 fantastic walks from the doorstep, a glass of wine in the sunshine on the patio at the end of one and the welcome of a toasty welcoming return after a very wet walk the next day. For those who test their legs on the local hills the use of the spa including steam and sauna is very welcome as are the very comfortable beds.
The kitchen is well equipped if you want to cater for yourself but there are also great places to eat nearby - you can walk over to the hotel, less than a mile to the village or jump in the car and there are plenty of places to tempt and a good few recommendations in the information file and visitor book.
The facilities are great if you visit with children but the real joy is having the Lakes and the Dales on your doorstep.
We travel from London and take a train to Lancaster and then jump in a cab up to Dale Meadow, you can leave Euston and be pouring a glass of wine in the cottage in less than 3 hours - perfect!
Looking forward to next year already.
