“Fantastic cottage with lots of history in a great location”
Reviewed 28 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Our family of five really enjoyed the house (Great for hide and seek!!). The house is well laid out with all the essential requirements for a holiday let. Quality decor and furnishings.

Everything has been thought of. A very homely and unique property with lashings of history for good measure. A wonderful location to explore walking and cycling routes.

Speedy and friendly service from Sandra and Malik."

“Unusual and Interesting Place to stay with its very own personality”
Reviewed 7 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

The Bronte Cottage for me was a perfect weekend getaway. From the front door we went on many local walks, one to Turnstall Church, so there was no need to use the car once you get there. It is really comfortable, with a fantastic bath, which is a must after a long walk. The wood burning stove in the living area gives a wonderful atmosphere in the evening and makes the room lovely and cosy. The cottage is a revelation itself in that so many of the original features have been kept in place (I believe it is a listed building), so you really feel that you have been taken back in time. The beds though are brand new and very comfortable and not from 200 years ago! ;-) If you love old properties and / or a Bronte fan then this cottage is an absolute must visit!

“Lovely cottage, a great place to stay”
Reviewed 3 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013

"23rd - 30th March 2013
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bronte School House. It was a perfect place to snuggle up after our long walks in the beautiful snowy mountains. What can I say? They thought of everything - lovely wood burning stove to get cosy after long days trekking, roll top bath to relax tired muscles, books to read when all you want to do is chill .... perfect! We highly recommend eating at Spice Essence in Kirkby, followed by drinks at The Royal. The waterfalls at Ingleton were superb, and close by if you don't want to venture too far from home. Our best day was the Walla Crag walk from Keswick, topping it all off with a boat ride across Derwent Water! All in all, a wonderful cottage to stay in whilst exploring the picturesque Lake District."

“it's not just a place to stay... it's a unique experience.”
Reviewed 10 November 2012 for a stay in June 2012

As a Bronte enthusiast, and knowing that it isn't possible to find anywhere else to stay where the Bronte girls stayed... I find this beautifully restored, immaculately clean house an exhilerating, exciting and chilling place to visit! A must to read Jane Eyre before you go... or better still, read it whilst you're there and REALLY feel the experience! It really is a must place to visit. Sandra and Malik are such warm and lovely people, and very proud of their hard work and restoration. So they should be! And I'm very grateful... otherwise I may never have had the chance to see this important historical Bronte connection. Thank you so much! And it's soooo clean!!
