kayak trip terrible!!!! rent your own kayak and do it yourself not worth spending the money for guide, waste of time, very dissapointed. The guide stopped at every rock to take a photo of us each individually kayaking past it. stopped to talk to his friend for ages every so often and left us all swaying on the water feeling nauseous with the motion of the waves. The guide was meant to speak english throughout the trip, but spoke primarily in spanish and rarely adressed the whole group, choosing to talk to one or two of the Spanish couples instead. It is possible to rent kayaks from the PADI diving school just a few doors down, who rent them out for 10 euro an hour and let you go off where ever you like on your own.

Although Google does not quite have the right location, once we found the office on camino de Burriana, it was a delight to get guided kayak tour with Carlos, Salvador and Natalia, who gave excellent descriptions of the area we were kayaking through, in Spanish, English, and even some Norwegian. They were superb and friendly guides, and it a couple hours of relentless enjoyment.

There are many comments regarding the kayaking but very few about stand up paddling (SUP). I can speak only for the later, but it was quite disappointing:

We were 6 people plus the guide. Only the guide and my quite petite girlfriend (she’s 167 cm / 47 Kilograms) managed to stand up for a longer period of time. For very one else the boards were way too small (I am 1,87 cm and 80 Kilograms). It’s the first time we tried SUP on the seaside, but have done it a few times before on inland waters. I never had any problems with stability / staying on the board. However, these were also the smallest boards I have ever had. I asked for a bigger board, but the instructor (he was around 1,65 cm) said it should not be any problem. Well, 5 out of 7 people could do the tour only sitting, so the pace was really slow and everyone got frustrated. I would not book again.

Also the meeting point was supposed to be at 10 am (tour starting at 10:30), but we didn’t actually go before 11 am as it took them one hour to get the equipment ready. The instructions took maybe 3 minutes. So you really don’t have to be there before 10:45 am.

Plus side: communication via the website was easy and prompt & the staff was nice. That’s why I am still giving 2 stars.

The kayaking could be a much nicer alternative
