We crossed this bridge on the way to the castle. Located at the other end of town but gives you a great view from it.
Well this is a pretty bridge, not open to traffic, only pedestrians. It present a nice view up the Fuengirola river and back donw to the beach and sea.
We last visited here in 2012 (this is our 5th visit) and I still think this is a great place. Cross the road bridge and walk on the beach side path, rather than the main road, and you get to the bridge at the castle, which is always a pleasant walk and is rewarded with several nice seafood restaurants. The place comes alive in the early evening and "the locals" always use the sand filled boats to BBQ (you can book the boats by the half-boat for a few euros). Miramar is a short walk from the bridge as is the castle and the beach-front center of Furengarola. I think the river/estuary side workout machines and development has not continued since our last visit but it is still clean and tidy. More of a passing through spit than somewhere to visit but as said, still a great place (especially of an evening).
The bridge has opened up the seafront as it joins up the castle side with what was the end of Fuengirola seafront.
Wandered down here from our Resort. Very nice and popular walking area. Great place to see tourists from all over. Nice little landmark.
I guess it’s a nice looking bridge that fits in well with the surrounding area. A few people were having photos on it as it overlooks the bridge and you can see the castle from it. I wouldn’t go special to have a look at the bridge itself, but there are nice places to see around there.
