I read the reviews and never thought I could make it to the top. I’m 62 and I do have a fear of heights, but I just kept trudging along and Wow! It was worth it!! Take your time, be smart, and stay hydrated. One thing I didn’t think of was that the rocks would be so hot to the touch.

This is the 2nd time I have climbed Cathedral rock. This time we got there early around 8.30 am and we still had to use the overflow car park. It's not a particularly long hike but will have you breathing hard at the top.
Views from the top are spectacular. Make sure you turn left at the top and scramble up another steep incline for another great perspective.
Coming down is quicker but some of that may be on your bum.
One of my favourite hikes when in Sedona.

was an exellent climb, hard in spots but well worth it. Just make sure to bring water with you.the view from the top was breathtaking. You would want to be used to climbing though.

You can walk the base trails or go up, either way will get your blood moving. Up is not for the infirm, and is a short but steep climb. The views are great either way! Get to the public parking early and remember your Red Rock Pass.

Park at the Baldwin loop trailhead. Much less congested than the cathedral rock trailhead. Wear good shoes and take lots of water. There is a spot 2/3 the way up that you have to scramble up some rocks...don’t give up! It is well worth it and coming down is easier than going up. Trail is very well marked.
