After going through some recent stress I decided to get away for a few days to decompress on my own. I have never solo tripped before, but I had some goals - sun, exercise, spa and relax. Boy did The Phoenician deliver! All service was warm and friendly. I loved my mountain view room with view of the Cactus Garden. It was so quiet and so peaceful and so clean and spacious. The bed was so cozy I actually spent a whole evening in it watching movies. Breakfast at Mowry & Cotton each morning was delicious, all of it! I also enjoyed dinner there, and drinks and a snack at The Thirsty Camel. The fitness center is the nicest I have ever seen at a hotel and I also had a luxurious spa treatment at the newly renovated spa. The woman who checked me in was great and I am sorry I forgot her name. But also wanted to shout out to Hannah at the pool, who was so delightfully upretentious and funny. She made my pool day great. If your goal is just to relax and unwind, The Phoenician is a great choice during the off-peak season!

My sis came into town and we stayed here two nights. This stay could not have been more perfect. We used the spa, ate breakfast twice at the restaurant by the pool and then at the pool itself twice for lunch. Their eggs are amazing and the hummus is amazing. Spa service we did manicure/pedicure and both of our ladies were so sweet and our nails look amazing! The rooms are gorgeous, every room is quiet. We had a view of the cactus view last time and this time the pool. The renovations are just improving on perfection. The water structures and slide for the kids are nice too. The best part of this hotel is the CUSTOMER SERVICE. Everyone we encountered was gracious and you can tell they have a priority to treat the customer right. Waited limited time or no time for every service from check in and out, eating at the pool. I will be back for a staycation with my family in August. Can't wait! Thank you Phoenician for our amazing stay!

Room Tip: all rooms we have stayed at here are quiet

First the highpoint: The rooms are beautiful. Very well appointed. High quality linens etc....
The pitfalls are as follows: A once elegant hotel, is no more. T.V's EVERYWHERE! CHAISE LOUNGES EVERYWHERE. My husband counted 600 chaises added to the original pool area. Pools made smaller. Bad idea. Music pounding. The new spa pool has really no view. In between 2 buildings and ALOT of concrete. They have a new target customer, and it is not the old money that once enjoyed the tranquility and class. Some very "questionable ladies" scattered about. Overall, will not be back. I think Marriott needs to know the following: Everyone is not a sports bar type person who loves drinking. Just saying. Some come to the desert to relax and yes spend but not in a carnival atmosphere!
Not good pool service either.

The epitome of luxury!!

The Phoenician and their amazing Guest Experience Team, specifically Shanielle Tara Jones, set the highest standards of luxury I’ve ever seen. The facilities are BRAND new. The food is greeatttt, and the rooms are super spacious. Belinda from the BRAND NEW fitness center does an outstanding job at making sure everyone is taken care of. Definitely will be back.

Husband and I were looking to get away for a couple of days for some sun, pool & drinks and boy did The Phoenician deliver. Our AMAZING stay started at check-in when we had the pleasure of meeting Edward who was pleasant, welcoming and helpful. Edward checked us in and found the most fantastic upgrade for us with one of the largest bathrooms I have ever seen and a gorgeous balcony overlooking the resort.

Lou and the valet crew are some of the hardest workers around and Tony got our luggage up to our room right away. Anytime we left the resort, these gentlemen greeted us with a smile, some conversation, bottle of water and sent us on our way with a smile.

We were told the pools have just been redone and they look beautiful. We had the pleasure of Mark, Hannah & Kelsey waiting on us for our 3 days by the pool and they made sure we stayed hydrated with our constantly filled water/ice pitcher and saw that all of our cocktails and food needs were met. They were just lovely, polite and so very attentive! We really enjoyed our poolside conversations with these fantastic young people. Hannah gets an extra Gold Star, when during one of our conversations we mentioned we were having dinner at the resort that night. She inquired about reservations and when we told her we did not have any, she made them for us,and then suggested some items on the menu. That my friends is customer service at it's BEST!

If you need anything, I suggest you stop at the concierge desk and ask for Brandellin. Dinner reservations off property, directions, shopping tips, ANYTHING, she will take care of it for you and again, all with a smile!

We wanted to eat on site for most of our trip and you can't go wrong with a burger from Relish Burger Bistro, an amazing lunch from Mowry & Cotton and cocktails in the evening at the elegant Thirsty Camel.

The grounds are beautiful. Camelback Mountain is breathtaking. Loved walking to the Spa every morning for a yoga class. From start to finish, it was just perfection! And you can't put a price on good old fashion Smile & Be Nice! Everyone we came into contact with had a smile, some conversation, and were just the nicest. Already planning the trip for next year!

Note: some great off property places to eat... Lo Lo's Chicken & Waffles (Sooo Good!) and Roaring Fork (try the fall off the bone Short Ribs)

Room Tip: Don't hesitate to see if there are upgrades available
