Nice location, views are OK, that is if you like looking down on freeways and housing divisions. Rooms were comfortable, but definitely need a deep cleaning. The drive to the top of the hill is not for the faint at heart, and really gives you a workout if walking.

If you are the type that likes to sit and read, enjoy a good book and soak in hot tub this would be your place. If you like to take a walk and see things around your condo, it would not. For me 3 days was enough.

Thank you for the 4 star rating!
Because our casitas are so very popular during our peak season we try to allow for maintenance, deep cleaning and upgrades a few times a year in the off season. Necessary repair, general cleaning are done immediately after a guest moves out, of course unless something calls for more, or is brought to our attention. It is true if staying at our casitas which sets up on the mountain with the top house being the 3rd highest house in Phoenix, you do have to go to the bottom of the mountain to walk the neighborhood. However there is a trail on the mountain, which is accessible from each casita, but it does means you will have to adventure up and down the mountain. The views I believe are great, not only looking over streets and freeways, housing developments but mountain views everywhere possible. At night I really like to the city light view with all the houses lite up. Because our location is in the city, in a neighborhood you are going to get views of everything within a city! But it does allow quick access to golf, shopping, stores etc. and is still private.

“Old Arizona brought back to life in modern times with all the conviences of home.”
Reviewed 15 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We stayed in the Ranchero for a few days in August (hot but bearable with the A/C). When we arrived we were met by Fran and shown arround our 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bathroom casita. It was decorated in what I would call "Shabby Cowboy Chic", a perfect setting for our stay in the old west. We had everything we needed plus an outstanding view and marvelous sunset each night. My son enjoyed the hot tub late into the night and after the sun went down we spent time on the patio. Great location, easy freeway access yet it felt like we were on our own private mountain. We would love to come again and would love to bring friends and use the Parlor when it is completed.
I think this was a great deal. Thanks Fran!

So glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the review and the 4 star rating! The desert nights are great in Phoenix, no humidity which allows for comfortable evening. Getting out of a hot tub or pools you can even feel cold! Please come back and bring your friend, as we now have added an additional bathroom, so both bedrooms can be called "masters". We even made it handicap accessible! With the completion of The Parlor, which is like a guest house directly below The Ranchero you can have 6 to 8 people staying together. The Parlor is also available as a stand alone studio rental.
Hope to see you again ................soon!

Now that you have stayed in two of our four casitas, you will have need to come and see our newest, The Parlor. Absolutely perfect for one or two people. It is our most unique house but it is only a studio, but with every convenience of our larger houses!

Thank you for the ***** 5 star rating!
