The only place. Rio Gallegos long lost its appeal. It is brawling with people. Yet this little sanctuary is very special. Full of history of by-gone days. Excellent Pisco Sours and you can bump into many a Scot who arrived in the 1890. Mostly from the Falklands.

Thank Daniel B

Britts have populated and developed the East side of the Patagonia by the end of the 1800.
The Club was founded a few years later in June 1911. The place keeps the style and the atmosphere, I imagine than back then it was an exclusive by membership Club, but today as a restaurant, is open to all public.
No doubt is one of the restaurants in town that you must go.
The attention is polite and diligent, and the food very good. The kitchen delivers orders in the proper time and the wide Menu include local specialties, Full Bar and a nice selection of wine and beers.

The food is just horrible. We ordered Medium rear steak and got a very dry well well done tasteless something. The Service was Not exactly the friendliest. We would definitely NOT recommend to go there unless you are starving to death.
It is just a wannabe fancy Restaurant, but to be honest: McDonald's has a far better quality!!

Estimado Chrigscha,

One of my favorite eating establishments in Argentina. The history of the club is fantastic and should be read. English is not a problem here. (In most of Argentina English is not a problem). The food is very good and the service is outstanding. What you do not know is how small the staff is but they get it done and they get it done to very high standards. I have eaten here 20 times and never had a bad meal or bad service.

After a couple of disappointing experiences at other local restaurants we decided to have a go at the British Club and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It is definitely not economical but the food is great, there are plenty of choices and our waiter was extremely polite and informative particularly about the local specialities.
My rainbow trout was amazing and so was the Calafate and chocolate ice cream, much superior to the one we've had in Natales a couple of days before. Strongly recommended if you can afford it, specially considered the city's food range is not exactly wide.
