What makes a dinner memorable when you are traveling? Good food, for sure. Friendly and efficient service. A wide choice of beer or wine. Value for dollar. Throw in a stunning view and you have a great experience.
Bahia Serena excels in each of those areas — so, not surprisingly, it is filled most night with knowledgeable locals. People come for the wonderful home made pasta, great salads, and memorable desserts, along with a view across the lakes to the Andes beyond. But they know to order a 1/2 portion, since the servings are enormous. Reservations are recommended, since lines start to form at the door and last until after 11. Family friendly, great for kids, but equally good for romantic couples, and loaded with vegetarian options. Worth noting: the menu is in both Spanish and English, although the warmth and charm is strictly Argentinian.

I was recommended Bahia Serena by a Barilochense. We had lunch outdoor facing the serence view of the lake and the mountain in a sunny day. There's a wide variety of dishes to choose from, some local, some general Argentine. The pastas are excellent, especially the panzotti filled with deer meat and the sorrentinos; milanesa is also good. Several dishes including the pastas can be ordered in a half or full size. A few beers are locally brewed and reasonable. Don't fee rushed to leave the table, once you finish eating. We stayed for about two hours and never the waitress made any attempt to rush us out. By the way, this easy going style applies to all restaurants in this great country. No reservations are accepted and the restaurant has its own parking lot by the lake shore.

Everything was 5 out of 5 stars. Right at the lake, with the most beautiful view! Their pasta was great, good and friendly service and very reasonably priced. Will definitely go again before we leave Bariloche. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location, charming. Only a few tables. Right on the lake. Book ahead. I can’t imagine you’d get a table in the high season. Start with their HUGE salads, especially after a full day of touring. Sometimes the greens truly help. You are offered several kinds of salads options. We had a cheese and a smoked trout. Both were AMAZING. BIG AND YUMMY. Especially if you love your greens. There is a great bread basket served as well.
We had a delish beer and had to buy a whole bottle of sav Blanc because it wasn’t available by the glass. All ok, it came back to the hotel with us. Lovely wine, decent price. I ordered the parm ravioli with blue cheese and walnuts, he had the spinach gnocchi. I made the mistake of ordering the whole plate, he had the 1/2. We are big eaters, Could’ve just ordered 1/2 portions on both. Simply fab homemade pasta. Would go back tomorrow eve, but we are out of here, heading To Chile. NO room for anything else...so charming wait staff, she spoke English! That did help....

Our hotel recommended this place for a late dinner after a late arrival. It was wonderful. Delicious food in a small, local restaurant. We had a fabulous garlic shrimp appetizer and two pasta dishes. Really good!
