This place serves the best cakes I had in a long, long time. The owners are German descendants and their cakes are based on the original German recipies! I especially recommend the apple strudel made by owner's grandmother which is delicious! The teas are great too and the service and it's totally affordable. A place you want to come back to.

Hard to find, but we persisted. Arrived at 19:45 but they close at 20:00 so we decided to come back another day. We arrived at 11:15 and this time she said she was not open yet while last time she said open at 9. Probably the best cakes on town but we will never know. ..

Champa and Christina certainly have one if not THE most outstanding eatery/ tea house in Tilcara. We will be back. It feel just like home. Tilcara is certainly a gem and will leave you breathless.

This is such a wonderful little tea room! When we walked in we were welcomed by the wonderful smell of freshly baked biscuits (which were served to us in a little dish as a complementary treat whilst we waited for our tea and cake). We tried the apple strudel and the torta negra both of which were absolutely delicious. The tea was also a real treat - wonderful loose leaf teas available in all sorts of different blends. The owner was really lovely too and the prices are very reasonable :-) highly recommend this place, particularly for any homesick Brits craving a really good cup of tea.

Champa has a real treat in store for you at his and Rose's tea house. The teas and coffee are delicious. Rose's cakes ( I had the chocolate) are out of this world. Tilcara not a spur of the moment to travel to but lots to see and do over a few days. A definite place to travel to. Museums, restuarants, market, music, Humahuaca, Puna, Botanical gardens. Tons of hotels. More opening up.
This is a place unlike any other. Rent a car in Juyjuy or Salta if going.
