We stayed one night and were very pleased.
Remember it’s a 2 star establishment- rooms are clean and pleasant.

Staff are friendly and helpful.
WiFi ( only in lobby) works well.

It is a pleasant 1.2 mile walk to the ruins.
We did the Sound and Light show and the streets are safe and well lit.

Breakfast is minimal but overlooks the pool.

We were happy we stayed here - having read the mixed reviews our expectations were met.

Family run - three generations- safe and sweet.
And yes - only cold water tap in the bathroom sink. Not a big deal

We spent a night here. The bathroom sink had only one tap, only cold water, the shower had hot water. The room was fine with a nice screened window that allowed the nice sounds of birds to be heard in the morning. The road next to the hotel is a dirt road. The continental breakfast is very minimal, coffee and bread, croissant period.

Although the rooms are quite simple the hotel as a hole is very nice and well attended, basic, I would say very acomodated for an uper 2 star hotel. There was no shampoo, "they run out" The price was very good too

We had fairly low expectations for this place based on the reviews, and actually it wasn't too bad at all. We stayed for 2 nights. Our room was large and fairly clean; aircon worked well and bed was comfortable. Room was cleaned each day. Wifi was mostly excellent, surprisingly! We could Skype no problem. Breakfast was basic - the first day it was just bread / croissants, but the second day was more of a buffet with some (stale) cereal and fresh fruit available too. Staff were very friendly and helpful, although they had no record of our reservation when we arrived (weird as we'd sent several messages back and forth via facebook)! Luckily they had a room free anyway. When it came to checking out, we had a disaster as the only cash machines in town were both not working. We'd managed to get money out on the first day but for the next two days the ATMs were both down. So make sure you bring plenty of cash to San Ignacio! The hotel let us pay in a mix of pesos and British pounds, which was very nice of them.
The main negative was the pool, which looks nice from the photos on tripadvisor but is actually very dirty, or was when we were there anyway. I'd looked forward to a swim but didn't fancy it once we saw it! If they cleaned the pool up, improved the breakfast a bit and also cleaned the rooms a bit more thoroughly (corners were quite dirty), this hotel could be really excellent.

A small hotel with large rooms very close (400 metres from the bus terminal) People in the hotel do not speak English but nevertheless are very helpful. They order for us a dinner ar a very low price because it was raining so much outside.
Very nice swimming pool and unbeatable price (450 pesos = 30 euros) breakfast included !!
