Mar del Plata has very few fine dining places, but many where you can eat excellent food, and to me Viento en Popa is where you can get the very best seafood. Not a fancy restaurant, but very fresh produce and ample portions that can be shared. The owners are there supervising what comes out of the kitchen and attentive to customers´ wishes. The waiters know their job and can explain what each dish offers, and service is prompt and friendly. Good wine list at very reasonable prices.
No coffee is served after the meal, and reservations should be made becuase it is usually full.

Not fancy but the food and service are excellent. Always clean tablecloth, service with smiles and doing its best to give you a great experience. We ordered 4 different dishes and each of one was tasty and good quality. Be back soon.

Don't expect a fancy place, but be ready for the best seafood in town ! "Gambas al ajillo" is a must (best place in the world for this dish) ! Just a tip, dip the bread in the gambas dish sauce and you will never stop ! We had Abadejo with bacon, capers and rocket and vermicelli with prawns ! Wine list is quite big with good choices !

We ate here twice. The first evening we chose Wreckfish or Chernia. It was really tasty and fresh. The second evening we ate the mixed seafood and rice ... it was average. I highly recommend the fish dishes. You can choose the way you want them cooked and a sauce, or not, or on the side. The fish came with potatoes. The food is prepared simply, is abundant and fresh. The service was very good and the wine selection also very good.
