Part of the Basque club at Bahia Blanca. Very good restaurant, quite fine decoration, quiet environment. Good plates, basically with good ingredients, not sophisticated but good enough if you consider where you are in the world! I come here every time I visit this city!

Everything we tasted was amazing. We had a salmon with prosciutto, broccoli and cheese which was delicious and a icecream with berries for dessert.

Ate at the Taberna Baska after our hotel recommended it to us for seafood, and something different.

I don't know if the owners are Basque, but the place certainly seemed more distinctive than "basque" restaurants I've eaten at in the US. We had a good salad which came with unusual broiled oysters. My wife had the salmon special of the day, and I had calamari stuffed with shrimp and topped with a creamy herb sauce. Both dishes came with excellent vegetable sautes, my wife's being squash with slivered almonds, mine mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, and more. There was a good wine list and we choose a Humberto Canale Patagonian viognier, very crisp and dry, a variety I didn't know they grew in Argentina, from a winemaker I'd never heard of, but quite good.

I wish I had taken some notes on the other dishes available, because the menu had quite a few items on it. I don't know enough to vouch for it as authentic Basque, but it was certainly something different, and quite out of the ordinary for Argentina. Would have to sample more to form an overall view of this restaurant, but the food was definitely competently prepared and tasty. Ambience is OK though plain, and at least there isn't the ubiquitous soccer game on a television. In a town that otherwise seems to offer pretty standard dining experiences, this may surprise you.

Very good seafood, also quite expensive!!
I´d recommend it if you are willing to spend a few more dollars than usual.
The food is very good, and respectful for the classic Basque recipes
