This used to be a good meat restaurant in Buenos Aires but nowadays, it is a tourist trap.
After several years not been there, I went with some business associates for dinner. What a disappointment. We ordered "parilla" and it was mainly second class meats and the ribs where full of fat. We complained at no avail. An on top, the service was very slow and the prices very high.
Better places to go.

On our first night in BA we asked one of the desk clerks at the Casa Calma hotel for a nearby restaurant with plenty of meat. He recommended La Chacra (this was the only bad recommendation we received from the hotel!), which was only a few blocks away. Very large dining room with various meats being grilled and otherwise cooked in the front. Only one or two other tables occupied at 8:30, and we assumed that the restaurant would fill up as the Friday night went on. We were mistaken and the atmosphere continued to be dismal. Our Spanish waiter was pleasant, but his heart really didn't seem in it, and he didn't try to dissuade us of ordering way too much food, as the portions were very large. Quality of meat and vegetables was very average, although the wines were good and well-priced. I see from later reviews that this restaurant is probably closed. I have to say I am not surprised.

Recently we moved away from the nearby La Chacra, it has been closed the last few months and they have been selling the interior fittings. Perhaps this means they are refurbishing . . .I don't know, but for now it is closed.

This restaurant is closed for renovation. Tried reaching them for a reservation for 25 people both by email 2 days prior (no response) & telephone - no answer - suggests very poor management.
