Our experience at La Cabrera was exceptional.

We arrived without a booking and were greeted at the door. We waited less than 5 minutes for a table.

Once seated, we were given complimentary bread which was accompanied by the most delicious pâté and a small plate of olives.

We didn’t order any starters - this was a good decision as the meals were enormous! I ordered the butterfly cut with blue cheese - it was incredible. The steaks were accompanied with an array of different sauces and dips and complimentary mashed potato, pumpkin, and a side of polenta - they were delicious.

After our meal, we were served a complimentary glass of bubbles, shortbread and lollipops. A nice touch.

We couldn’t even finish the meal, it was so indulgent. The restaurant staff were more than happy to pack it all up for us to take home. They even gave us an extra serving of mashed potato and pumpkin to take home with us.

In total, for 2 steaks, a salad to share and a bottle of wine, our total bill came to approx. $100USD. The meal was worth every cent! We were expecting to pay a lot more for the exceptional service and all of the extras that were included. Our waiter, Luis (or Louis) was very attentive and although the restaurant was busy, he made us feel like we were a priority.

Tips were not included in the bill, so if you are planning to dine at La Cabrera, make sure you take enough cash to tip the waiters for an incredible experience.

Most tender, huge & juicy steak. Mum & Dad shared a 600gm rib eye & 4 ingredient salad,& I had a 400gm tender loin.
All the extras are the icing on the cake with wonderful flavors. Dip, oils, seasonings, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes.....
The list goes on. Oh, & the extensive wine list & desert menu is great too.
Yes it’s not cheap, but man, if you want a great meal that WONT disappoint, come here!
Don’t forget to book. The line was down the block when we arrived, luckily we had a reservation!

A nice parrilla like many other in Buenos Aires how ever the prices are ridiculous considering the variety in town.

Our final night in South America and we were recommended this restaurant. We arrived around 7.45pm (Saturday evening). The restaurant was already packed, we were popped on the wait list and sat outside under heating for approx 30mins. Ordinarily we probably would have moved on, but we were intrigued by the popularity so waited. Once inside the atmosphere is delightful, bovine inspired! Hugo was our waiter and he was extremely attentive. Service was super fast which was a shock as we had got used to waiting for ages for service! The complimentary basket of bread was brought alongside some spreads. The confit garlic in honey was truly to die for! I stupidly ordered some papa frittas to accompany what I thought would be a sole steak. It’s totally not necessary to order sides as you receive so many delicious sides with your meals. Our steaks were cooked perfectly medium. Argentinians really know how to cook beef! The wine selection, again all
Argentinian was huge, and we had a very enjoyable Malbec. We shared a tiramisu
For dessert, it was huge and we couldn’t get through it despite it being delicious. The only negative was it was hot and a little stuffy. The locals were onto it and wore sleeveless, we were rugged up in warm clothes so it was a relief to get outside. Very much worth eating at this restaurant, do make a reservation if you are impatient, otherwise join the queue it is worth the wait!

This is an outstanding restaurant especially when you go early and take advantage or the happy hour prices which are 40% off all food and drinks. This is lovely restaurant in a nice area in Palermo. The service is excellent and the food was delicious, we had the huge chorizo steak, salad, and roasted potatoes. The portions are very large and we had more than we could manage to eat. At normal price this is an exceptional place to eat but with the discount, it’s awesome. Happy Hour is daily between 6:30pm and 8:00pm. You have to be seated by 7:15pm and get you bill prior to 8:00pm.
