We booked this room through Bookit.com ... big mistake

First, the good stuff .. decent breakfast, great location

The lousy stuff ... the room did not look like the website photos, the room was poorly maintained and smelly ... the bathroom was a wreck ... wifi was slow ... staff was marginal .. no shuttle to airport .. no money exchange service .. one of the elevators was not running .. no bar or restaurant (photos showed both) .. paint falling off ceiling .. the room was supposed to be "no smoking" but it smelled like an ashtray .. poor water pressure and very little hot water .. THE ADVERTISED RATE WAS HALF WHAT i WAS CHARGED ..this is a very noisy, poorly maintained hotel

I've been all over the Americas and the Caribbean islands .. this is the worst place I've stayed

Room tip: Don't stay there

This is an old, extremely dirty, run-down hotel.
I stayed for one night because I could not find another hotel quiclky. I asked Despegar for a refund and left early next morning.
Pictures are not true. Furniture is broken, torn, and dirty.
Public areas are run-down. Carpet is filthy and full of smudges, stains (some as big as the halls they cover.
Doors are broken. There's humidity stains all over the walls.
One can smell mold, dirt and humidity everywhere.
Mattress in my room was cheap and soft.
It's close to The Obelisco and next to nice hotels but needs extreme make-over.

We chose the Exe Hotel Colon in Buenos Aires, Argentina because it was rated as a 4-star hotel, but it is not.
The only good quality about the hotel is its location, very close to the obelisk and the Teatro Colon (Columbus Theater).
The room was uncomfortable, the staff could not clean the bathroom (there was a constant urine odor), there was no air conditioner in the room, so it was too hot to sleep and even though the Internet WiFi access point was literally outside the room door, we could not get Internet service inside the room.

The breakfast was exactly the same each day and the staff was simply there to do their jobs, and were not friendly or helpful (although they were not unfriendly).

So, if you are going to BA for any reason, please do yourself a favor and do not choose the Exe Hotel Colon.

Room tip: If you do stay, please get a room that does not look down upon the street. There is traffic all night which is very noisy.

I did not book this hotel. As soon as I arrived after a red-eye flight I realized i was not going to stay there. Ugly, dirty and smelly. The location is good but be aware that photos are far from reality. I took some to ptovide evidence.

The hotel itself was unremarkable, but OK for a business trip. My room had three narrow beds (no idea why). The mattress was a bit springy but comfortable enough to get a good night's sleep after a long workday. It was within walking distance of many important landmarks, and easy for Cabify/Uber drivers to find.

The breakfast selection was a bit narrow in the protein department, but there was an ample selection of pastries, cereals.

Coffee and hot water is available, but no decaf coffee if you're into that.

The walls were very thick in general, so cell phone reception is spotty unless you're near a window. WiFi service was practically unusable, as it worked for about 5 minutes, then cut off for about 30 seconds, repeatedly - making Skype calls inconvenient, web browsing uncomfortable, but it was OK for sending/receiving emails.

The doors did not do a good enough job of sound insulation; if you need to sleep after 7am it will be difficult since sound from the hallways carries. Sometimes guests slammed doors and woke me up in the middle of the night.

Service was great; most of the staff was immensely courteous and kind. I would recommend the place for the price and location, but not much else.

Room tip: Get a room as far away from the elevator and as close to the middle of the building as possible.
