We had a reservation at 8:30 pm. When we got there, there was a bunch of people outside. The restaurant actually opens at 8:30, so every guest must go to the door, announce himself and then wait to be called after they open.
However as soon as we got in, things got better.
We had an amazing waiter (Emmanuel), who kindly offered the wagyu beef and all the other options in the menu.
We had the provoleta, the kobe/wagyu beef, the ribeye steak (Ojo de Bife), and the half portion dessert tasting.
Simply amazing.
The kobe beef was so tender it was literally cut with 2 spoons.
The sabayon and dulce de leche ice creams were unbelievable.

I can't tell in words how good the meat is. This parrilla restaurant is excellent, reservations are mandatory because it gets really crowded. The "bife de chorizo", the "ojo de bife" and the "asado de tira" are the best options (ask rare if you like, because Argentinians eat their meat well-done). Much cheaper than Cabana Las Lilas in Puerto Madero.

Everyone we know who have visited Buenos Aires and everything we've read about dining experiences pointed to a visit to La Cabrera. So we did.

The place is a lot of fun, colorful and quirkily decorated. The portions are huge and are meant to be shared -- we had the mixed salad, short ribs, steak, sweetbread and fusilli, and a bottle of good Malbec. There are a lot of small sides included. If you have been in the top steak houses in the U.S., you will find the steaks here acceptable but not spectacular, and quite reasonably priced.

Lots of people recommended this place for. Good steak... and it was fantastic. Very good and friendly service, recommended the right meat, quantity and cut. Wine was very good although pricy but the meat quality, the many side-dishes you get and the atmosphere were fantastic. Must go place!

It will be good if you reserve a table 2 or 3 days before you go (I reserved by email).
It is an excellent choice if you love meat.
I recomend the Ojo Medium. ONE plate it is ENOUGH for two people. The Fries (papas fritas) is enough for 2 as well. I sugest you pick one salad and one beef for two. It is an expensive restaurant but it is a good one. The place is beautifull.
The staff is very kind!!
