“GOOD LOCATION, PRIVATE AND SECLUDED.”
Reviewed 19 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Our party consisted of myself, my husband, our daughter and her boyfriend (they are 17).

We visited Yalikavak for the second year running and this time stayed in No 1, Mandalina Gardens. Prior to this, we stayed quite a way out, at Blue Water Bay. In comparison, this apartment is relatively basic and the pool is small. But, we thought the location of this one was so much better than the last one because, rather than getting in the car all of the time, we could walk into Yalikavak centre from the apartment. Initially, the walk is not a particularly pretty one, as it passes through the backs of some shops and past an industrial unit but within a few minutes, you arrive in the centre.

The apartment has two decent sized bedrooms, one double and one twin room. Although the bedding was clean, it was too small for the beds and would not tuck in properly. The double bed had a mattress protector on it but the single ones did not. One of the twin bed mattresses was stained, which was a bit off-putting. They very much need mattress protectors - I hope this gets sorted out before the next people arrive. There was plenty of storage space in the bedrooms.

The living area's suite is lovely but we didn't ever use it, due to the weather being beautiful, so we lived outside. The inside dining table and chairs are pretty old fashioned and could do with being replaced, especially as they are the first thing you see when you walk through the door.

The bathroom could do with a bit of a facelift. The shower doesn't drain out very well and it leaks a bit onto the floor. It has quite a small space for manoeuvre due to the washing machine living in it. We found the washing machine very useful, especially for towels.

Emin, the manager, is very friendly and helpful. Apart from getting a bit lost when we arrived (he met us down the road an we followed him in), we didn't need to ask him for anything but I am sure he would have been very happy to help, as he's a very thorough manager. He visited the complex a few times whilst we were there.

There were plenty of pans and utensils in the kitchen and the cooker was perfectly good enough for a holiday.

The gardens were very well looked after and are very pretty. It's great to sit on the balcony and look out, whilst having breakfast or just relaxing. It's a big balcony and has railings and a little gate, so would be fantastic for kids. The whole complex is surrounded by a wire fence, which is necessary due to the amount of street dogs that live in Yalikavak at the moment (a lot more than last year - on our first night, we saw a pack of them running around the street, barking - quite disturbing - but they never bother people). There are quite a few cats too but they didn't come around the apartment much. They only appeared on the nights we had barbeques (there are a number of barbeques available to borrow) because they were after food.

We had a great holiday and would very much recommend this apartment for it's private location and access to the centre of Yalikavak.

The apartments were very good, spacious lounge/dining/kitchen area. Two very spacious bedrooms. Very well equipped. The garden and swimming pool were very well maintained. the apartments were excellently located for dolmuses, restaurants, bars and supermarkets. The agent Emin was very attentive and couldn't do enough for our group. We are a walking group and had a superb stay in Yalikavak. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this area and apartments to anyone

“Clean, basic and comfortable - great access to village”
Reviewed 27 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

No probs with the property at all. Picked up and dropped off at the airport. Welcome pack much appreciated for late arrivals. Pool lovely. Located in a quiet area of the village, close to all amenities and the weekly market. Well worth a visit.
