This is an attractive, slightly quirky, villa, on the cliff top between Luz and Burgau. 20 minute walk along cliff path to Burgau, where there are excellent restaurants open even in the off-season (we were there late March). 35 min walk to Luz; more bars and restaurants here but I prefer Burgau. 10 min drive to Lagos (pronounced Lar-gosh) where you can buy fresh fish & veg from the market every day but Sunday (and don't buy on Monday as fishermen don't fish on Sundays) Lagos has loads of supermarkets too.
But what about the villa? Quiet location, gorgeous views from garden and roof terrace, not overlooked, plenty of space to move sun beds around to be in the sun and out of the wind. Heating was a bit erratic, but we generally fired up the log stove each night for a lovely ambiance. Large rooms made the villa feel spacious and comfortable. Clean and tidy, with a very helpful house manager on call to help if needed.
Loved this place, recommend highly.More
