I think it was a bit expensive for the quality presented. The food is normal, not bad, but far from excelent like they said in comments. Is overated I think.
The persons and the atmosphere is good.

Nice food, staff and vibe.
Just enjoy the Alentejo at it's best.
Grilled fish and Monkfish rice are the best.

We were cycling from Almograve to Zambujeira and stopped off here. Last year we tried to get in one evening and it was packed.
So after a year of waiting we finally got to sample the food and service here.
When we cycled past the small harbour just north of Zambujeira the owner of A Barca was loading up with fish- so you know it’s fresh.

Fantastically helpful staff too, professional and attentive.
We sat outside with a view of the sea and started with some cooling beers.

Tuna salad- I know hardly adventurous but it was lunchtime - then we added octopus , then we added prawns- then we had to stop- it was lunchtime and we had a few more miles to go but I could quite easily have sat and grazed there all day.

Octopus- o h m y g o o d n e s s
Prawns fried in garlic sounds fairly easy but too much oil or burn the garlic or worse burn the prawns- this was perfect.

Miss G dropped her fork with quite a good clang. Within seconds a waiter was outside with a tray with a selection of cutlery. How well trained and attentive was he.
It’s a bit out of zambujeira but worth the effort

A small family-owned establishment sits alone at a corner of the road with a patio overlooking the ocean, perfect for sunset! All you have to do is grab a drink, walk across the road to see the sunset closeup. On the left there are old traditional fisherman homes. Truly a nostalgic sight!

This local eatery serves fresh, well-prepared, authentic, unpretentious, and delicious Algarve cuisine. We were very impressed also with the attentive and friendly service. The background music was groovy lounge put together by the owner's son. One thing I'm addicted about Portuguese food is simply-cooked sweet potato. It's different than the orange sweet tato in the US. It's yellow and sweeter, not as starchy. They were cooked in tender octopus in olive oil. Sweet & salty percebes, Clams in Garlic sauce, Arroz Dolce, and a house-invented dessert we can't remember its name. Perfect dinner to end the night.

If you want to have an amazing dinner at the sunset, near the Atlantic ocean, this is the place to go if you're in Zambujeira-do-Mar.
A really interesting menu for reasonable prices, on a cosy and "oceany" place. Plus, the staff is really nice.
I'll make sure to come back.
