Makes House is a gem perched in between the Stellenbosh mountains. It was our first stop on our honeymoon and set the standard of the rest of our trip. We loved every moment, the rooms are comfortable and gorgeously decorated. The breakfast was impeccable and the service was first class all the way. We will most definaly recommend to all our SA and international friends visiting Stellenbosh - simply magnificent Makes!

We booked the Spring special which includes a spa treatment and dinner with wine pairing at Makaron restaurant. We also booked an extra night at the normal rate. We stayed in a premier room which is the cheapest option available. Last time we stayed at Majeka house we stayed in a suite. I would have to say the premier room was also extremely well equipped and very comfortable. The decor is fantastic, modern with a playful element and the small personal touches make Majeka house extra special. The shower was excellent - and the bed and pillows comfortable with beautiful linen. My husband had an excellent massage and I had a brilliant facial in the relaxing spa. The next day I returned to the spa for a pedicure. The included dinner at Makaron restaurant was outstanding - small plates paired with an excellent selection of local wines. The food was inventive, tasty and beautiful to look at. The breakfast selection is also excellent, we especially enjoyed the freshly made green juice and homemade yoghurt. The buffet is a far cry from the normal bland hotel offering. So for us, Majeka house is a real gem. 5 star luxury without pretence. The staff are incredible, warm and welcoming and we would love to return again.

friendly and efficient front desk staff
rooms great
lavazza coffee machines bit cumbersome in comparison to Nespresso
sufficient bottled water, both still and sparkling, in rooms is a real treat
breakfasts great, presentation on some dishes can be improved as well as staff efficiency at busy times

We have just returned from our second stay at Majeka and it still has that charm. It was a truly wonderful stay and we felt so at home. From Wonder the manager welcoming us to the friendly staff and incredible decor, it was a great weekend away from the city. Thank you Majeka!

The kitchen is especially worth mentioning! The menu was simply excellent, the wines were perfect and tasty!
And the beds are super comfortable!
Unfortunately, the room - garden view on the ground floor - was a little dark.

Dear Sabine V,

Thank you very much for your praises on our Makaron restaurant as well as our sleep quality.

Our rooms are all indeed moody but adequate lighting is offered for our guests' comfort.

Kind regards

Karine
