Majeka House has one of our most favorite Spa's in the Western Cape. The spa treatments are outstanding with very well trained therapists. The only aspect that is a bit of a let down is the fact that the pool guy was busy cleaning the pool area whilst we were sitting in the jacuzzi. I am a bit shy I did not want to get out of the pool until he left. We went outside the pool area relaxing and sat there for about 30 minutes without any of the waiters asking if we would like to have a drink or a snack.

Dear desireec116,

Thank you very much for your comments left for us about your experience at Majeka House SPA (this is the site for the hotel guests that is why I am making sure it is clear).

Since our pool is opened 24 hours a day for our hotel guests, there has to be a time when the pool is cleaned and I am sorry that you felt uncomfortable, but unfortunately it has to be done, I hope you understand.

Regarding the service in the garden, I will definitely take it up with our restaurant manager as this should not happen. Thank you very much for letting us know,

We look forward to welcoming you back at the spa in the near future.

Kind regads

Karine

Majeka is a beautiful guest house in Stellenbosch, an idyllic getaway for a weekend. My wife and I went for our 11th anniversary. It was a perfect choice, an escape.

The service is impeccable, warm and caring, flexible and thoughtful.

The spa treatments are outstanding; the therapists are well trained, with excellent technique, and hard working, committed to delivering a great experience.

The restaurant serves a multi-course dinner with a range of options and wines to go with each course. It exercises the taste buds. The breakfast additionally offers a range to meet all western food interests.

The rooms are large, with a sitting area and king bed, and full bathroom. The bed is very comfortable. The bathtubs are out of use due to water restrictions.

We did not use the communal pool due to cool temperatures, but the outside area as well as the lounge are great for relaxing.

We were on a package visit, and the package included everything we could have desired at a brilliant price. Every aspect of our stay was fantastic, but what makes the guest house so special are the staff, from reception to the spa to the restaurant.

I strongly recommend this property and look forward to returning.

We stayed at Majeka House for two nights.

The venue is a guest house which includes breakfast.

It is close (ten minutes with no traffic) to some great wineries such as Rust en Vrede.

The rooms are large with a sofa and coffee table. There are also pool facilities although due to water restrictions were not available. Free wifi was available in the room.

Breakfast included both cold and hot options from the menu. The restaurant was very quiet on weekday mornings.

The staff were very friendly and had good recommendations for dinner and logistics. There was also a spa.

One downside is that the rooms were starting to look a bit dated. Our one has some large pink flamingos in it.

The restaurant for dinner was a let down.

Overall a good option for a stay in the area.

Dear Vegemitelover,

Thank you for sharing your experience at Majeka House.

We are very surprised about your comment that the rooms are outdated as the specific room you stayed in was totally renovated last year. We have however taken your comments to heart.

We are also glad that despite it all, you would still recommend us as a good options to stay in the Winelands.

Kind regards

Karine

An ideal place for your trip around Stellenbosch. the dinner in the Restaurant was outstanding, also the breakfast. The rooms were large and clean, but a little bit to cold in winter. The style-mixture in the hotel is "quite complex" (i.e. a variation of modern, classic, landhouse, art-deco) but that is okay

Went for a family wedding and was very impressed. Staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. Especially Wonder. It is a small boutique hotel, and my party had 3 rooms, all were differently styled which i thought was cool.
The breakfast was also amazing, so much choice, would put a big 5* hotel to shame with how it was presented and the quality
If your planning a stay at the wine route ... then this is a great place to stay
