We booked an expensive room, with balcony and pool view, and got a room on ground floor with no privacy. Could not even open a curtain. Gardeners and cleaners started outside early in morning, in front of our bedroom, noisy and no privacy!!!!

Excellent little haven in the middle of town! We have stayed here for the 4th time whilst visiting my daughter who studies at Stellies. Unbelievably this place just gets better and better. Fantastic breakfast. Location is phenomenal with loads of restaurants and bars right next to it. Highly recommended

Room tip: Try get a ground floor room close to pool

The hotel is situated in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Central Stellenbosch. Everything is within walking distance. The vibe just outside the hotel is magical and touristy, but once you step into the hotel lobby you are greeted with a serenity that makes you feel like you have come home.

A hidden gem in the heart of Stellenbosch, we only went in for dinner but really wished I found out about the hotel when doing my search. The setting around the restaurant is so tranquil you forget you are still with in the CBD. The restaurant is very quaint but very modern and has small but satisfying selection of very well presented and flavoured foods accompanied by a good wine selection. Pop in if you can even for just a coffee the staff are very welcoming and friendly

Outstanding service and luxury at this very special historic hotel. Room 116 was perfectly located with a patio, just a few steps from the pool.
The pool area is lovely with a almost private feel and kept immaculately clean. Drinks and lunch by the pool is recommended.
The bed was a large king and super comfy with good room air conditioning control. Shower good but a bit weak on pressure and only a fixed ceiling head.
We ate breakfast on our last morning and paid separately which was very reasonable.
The area around the hotel and the central area feels very safe and is fine to walk around day and evening.
Most of all, the staff were magnificent with real and genuine customer service. We were made to feel like royalty from the moment Prudence checked us in with a warm welcome.
Derrick on front of house is also a true professional and chatted with us and helped us with our every need, including package wrapping and free valet parking under the hotel.
We will certainly be returning next year for a longer stay.

Room tip: Room 116 poolside recommended
