This small property has a lot going for it. The location is good; just ten minutes' walk from the centre of Stellenbosch and less to the university, and central enough that walking is safe. The rooms are comfortable and equipped with a kettle, though not a safe (which is fairly standard in South African accommodation) nor a television (which I didn't miss even a little).
A small pool and garden provide a perfect way to catch some sun and a lounge with an honesty bar offers an inside social space.
Breakfast is beautifully prepared and served with fresh, healthy ingredients.
There is parking, though it's not ideal: it's all on the relatively small forecourt, open to the street (i.e., not behind a fence or other security barrier) and because there's no turning space, getting out entails reversing into a busy road.
However, these drawbacks are outweighed by the helpfulness of the staff and proprietors and won't keep me from coming back.
